There would be NO FREE AGENCY WITHOUT curt flood .

Flood wouldn't be considered the best player and probably in free agency would never be highest paid.

So Aaron could be highest paid and the best but he would NEVER ascend to that WITHOUT Flood

So I understand everything you saying but NONE of this would be positive for Joe without Jack.

Nore talked about that in the pod with Joe

One thing about Combat, at first they had the music mix with Ben and then Just. That was one problem with copywriting and having old episodes available on YT and the podcast apps.They had to scrap that off.

He was before everything, so he didn't monetize or think towards the bag. Same with Juan Ep, that was a side gig and hobby.

Combat had the Complex show for a bit, but they whitewashed them and it didn't work out. Plus as we see with Joe, Complex doesn't pay.

I think Rogan showed everyone they can get paid from podcast that's why we have so many now that we shouldn't have.

I 100% agree and I know Joe would say the same thing....That's exactly what I been saying the whole entire time...

I been listening to Joe since day 1. Combat Jack since day 1. All I am saying is Joe grew the podcast space exponentially.

Yeah and again I know the vison Combat had and his vision for the podcast space. Again I was listening to both Joe and Combat Jack on soundcloud, fuck a apple podcast.

When I said 10X his vision, I meant Joe took Combat Jack's blueprint (which he constantly let's it be known) and grew the podcast space.....

Most niggas out here wouldn't have even done that. Given props or let it be known to the world that I took the blueprint and expanded my business.

Again, I know who the OG Combat Jack is and will never discredit what he did for the podcast world....Probably the first hip hop podcast I ever listened too because every episode was on fire....

But I will never hate on Joe for taking the blueprint and expanding the podcast space for himself and other black creatives...

It's the same thing in the investing world. You talk to any CFP they will tell you to invest in index funds and let compounding interest do the work...

That 's one of the blueprints to generating wealth for retirements....

to me you can't really quantify a mans "vision" especially when he passes away early.
yes Joe has achieved great success in podcasting, business, etc
but I don't think anyone can say his "vision" was 10x more when combat passed away and Didn't get to see his plan(s) come to fruition

Joe already had the facial recognition from his rapper career though. Him and Nore really got their push from thief early breakfast club interviews. They both owe Charlemagne really they run with a lot of his old shit currently

The take was dumb especially considering in the last month or so they claimed JM wasn't a big actor and doubled down on it.

Even trying to compare DC to Marvel didn't make much sense either. I doubt Ish actually knows what the budgets or returns were for any of the movies let alone basics about the projects or characters. The Flash movie has been getting hype for awhile and Ezra was considered a stand out in the Justice League film. More importantly both brands are recognizable and technically the Flash is a more know popular and recognized character to the masses. Ezra will also star in the Flash as the main actor/character. The fact that they are keeping the Flash movie shows how important the film is to the DCU even if it's just not wanting to take the financial loss. You'd need to be a Marvel fan to even know who Kang is. He's the main villian, but they don't necessarily need to have JM in every movie series moving forward and it's clearly enough time to pivot.

Also, it's dumb to try to downplay a person just because you aren't personally aware of who that person is. I wasn't a fan but wasn't Ezra a character in those Harry Potter prequels? To me, both actors aren't that far removed from each other.JM is gaining more momentum as of late. Ezra actions could be the reason you are seeing less of him.

More and more Ish comes off like the fake intellectual of the group and has a need to be right. The only time he really defers is when it's music related.

I didn't agree with Mel's point but it was a fair argument. I'm guessing her opinion is race is a factor in how the two situations are being handled. Johnny Depp is a bigger star than both and loss alot with his scandal seemingly instantly. Outside of the Flash, maybe there wasnt anything else for Ezra to loose or he did unaware to the public and we don't know what is going to happen with the Flash moving forward.

What you said is my point. Just because you are not informed about who someone is doesn't mean they don't have a fan base or respected within their field. There are alot of people most of us are unaware of that are famous etc. People appeal to different audiences. The average white person doesn't likely know who Bokeem Woodbine is by name alone. Even if you named some of his roles, they'd probably still question who he is. Does that take away from his career?

Another part of the argument was did Flip know the name of the black man who played Cyborg in the Justice League film. Flip did not know Ray Fisher. I could be wrong, but you don't know who Jonathan Majors is because you are black. You know who he is because you enjoyed his performance in things you've seen or like me you've heard his name attached to past roles. The only performance I've seen Jonathan Majors in was The Harder They Fall. Clearly there is a black demo, but that doesn't mean we are all familiar with someone just because they are black or we watch everything that is targeted towards black people.

DCU movies being good or bad doesn't matter as far as their characters popularity over the years or in terms of Melissa's point. They are still big budget movies with the same level of marketing as the MCU films. The DCU isn't a new franchise that WB is looking to just write off anymore than Disney with the MCU. The way Ish was talking was as if the DCU franchise was something obscure, was not a direct competitor or the actor didn't matter to a finished film.That's alot different than simply saying you are unaware of who Erza is. Mel's point was both are attached to major franchises with large backers.

I don't think Ezra Miller was ever famous.

Look at his filmography. I haven't seen any of that shit besides him in the DC movies and I see A LOT of fucking movies. If you aren't in to Fantastic Beast and DC, you don't know him.

and The Flash is far from Batman, Wonder Woman or Superman as far as popularity. That's why it's taken so long for them to be in a solo movie. The average person not into comic books, DC anime or DC universe doesn't know who the fuck The Flash is. Who dresses up like The Flash for Halloween?

and DC movies being good does matter. It matters in how many people are actually going to see the movies and if they care or not. So Black Panther being in a bunch of movies that made a billion matters, in Black Panthers overall popularity.

Black people know Jonathan Majors, even if it's just recently for Kang and Creed. Me, I've seen everything from Last Black Man in San Fran to Devotion, so I already knew who he was.

Ezra Miller, you would have to be a DC universe fan to now who he is. How many people could pick Ezra out in a line up. That matters.

The popularity of Bill Cosby matters versus Harvey Weinstein.
