Not trying shit on anybody's religion

So only acknowledge god when things go your way? That’s ridiculous to me . The arrogance of humans to think god favored them over everyone else. That’s what slave owners used to justify their superiority . God made us the chosen people
Who said they acknowledge him only when things go their way? You seen them acknowledge at that moment..you don’t know how often they thank a higher power

Other poster pointed out the tribe that knew about the planets b4 modern science a few post above

All types of Palaeolithic and Neolithic art depicting the night sky but we are talking about Pluto. Nobody knew about Pluto until relatively modern science starting in the 19th century...

LOL again you’re using the superiority angle that racists and slavers use to oppress Africans
Nope I’m using the angle that just cause you haven’t witness something as of yet dosent mean it’s not true.. a lot of humans tend to believe that if they are incapable of doing something than it’s impossible or their arrogance won’t allow them to digest that maybe they are part of a demographic that isn’t capable of doing something

The same people who do drugs , cheat on their wives and turn to religion in prison. Most people ain’t sincere with that . Go “turn up” Saturday and do shenanigans in Vegas and be in church the next day. Shits foolish

My mistake was saying centuries instead of a century

There’s nothing to witness though, no living person has witnessed an afterlife .

Some do some don’t

They can come and get that Denzel treatment.

I like to explain it like this: Simon bar Kokhba is your favorite jewish messiah claimant's favorite jewish messiah claimant...

There’s nothing to witness though, no living person has witnessed an afterlife .
There’s over 7.8 billion people on earth and we probably had a few billion die during mankind existence.. I have and will never meet every living person on earth right now or prior to my existence, so who am I to say noooooo living person has witnessed an afterlife.. what makes you more special than any human in the history of mankind to make that exact claim without knowing and meeting every single human that has ever existed or currently exist on this planet?

That’s a straw man argument. I’d bet my entire life savings and my own life that nobody has witnessed an “Afterlife” and I’m not talking about post death hallucinations

No, you you said several tribes so which "tribe" knew of Pluto in 1900? Official discovery was in 1930 so which tribes that you alluded to were talking about Pluto even in 1923...
Actually I said several tribes knew about the planets and the solar system.. I thought Pluto was part of the equation when talking about planets.. but mysteriously that was the 1 that wasn’t part of the knowledge until recently

You can say that cause it’s not like you gonna interview 7.8 billion people on earth to be proven wrong

I'm not trying to argue, I stopped arguing about religion in my 20s, but what made you bring up those tribes anyway?

Whatever knowledge they may have had didn't contribute to the Western world's understanding of the solar system which is what you seem to have been calling into question when you mentioned Pluto no longer being considered a planet.

And you can say that because you know I’m not going to interview 8 billion people. It’s a circular argument but the odds are overwhelmingly in my favor that nobody has died , walked around heaven and retuned with proof. It’s as illogical as saying there’s a person out there that can turn invisible but you’ll never meet them unless you interview all 8 billion humans

The argument was actually about how he said he dosent believe in a book made by humans, than I pointed out most of the science he knows come from a book made by humans.. so why does he believe in 1 book and not the other.. i than brought up how scientists was wrong about what Pluto was and than changed their beliefs about it.. so technically the book he believes in literally has changed their views and opinions over time.. than it went from there

You the 1 that made the bet that you know you will never go through with not I

I mean that list seemed definitive so I was just wondering why it was limited to very Western faiths. That said, you were raised with the right perspective IMO.

I can't get to personal but I was headed toward making a major life decision and asking a lot questions

So although they were strict Catholics they wanted me to think for myself.

But of course they went to the easily accessible and most comfortable first so judeo Christian based was it.

And it was smart because to see religions so damn similar have such division really helped me understand human nature.

I was WAY to young at time for Hindi and Budda, Yuruba and anything outside that initially.

I appreciate it so much more now being older. But it was cool being a young black kid in synagogue. Meeting a pujari. I think spelled that right.

The nuns at my school hated it.

Oh I'm definitely up out the paint

The god ain't godding.

This thread went exactly as was predicted like 3 posts in

Good Night my brothers

Praying for you all daily like I always do.

Much health, happiness and success.

Whoever whatever you choose to believe in

Be good to each other black men.

Are there people who can turn invisible?
Wasn’t there a post about a yr or 2 ago that said scientists made a breakthrough being able to using a cloaking type scenario? It was a post.. so just that alone if true than there lies your answer

Same here. I found it hard to believe in the biblical sense of G_d
There's no such thing as coincidences

You sound like your ready to explore many things different than what you have been taught? Meaning u wanna get out the box they put many people.. i been there.. the thing is you have the answers already but now u have to retrieve them.. thats the hard part... i can give you some answers but it may not satisfy you, its just my perspective... also there is no such thing as coincidences...your its called synchronicity... just understand a paragraph by me or 5 minute video wont give you all the answers you seek..

Synchronicity is a term originally coined by psychologist Carl Jung that refers to deeply meaningful coincidences which mysteriously occur in your life.
When you experience synchronicity, you’ll have experiences that seem far too significant to be mere day-to-day serendipitous encounters. Some people describe these as ‘freak encounters,’ ‘miracles,’ ‘signs from the heavens,’ guidance from one’s personal spirit guides, or even mystical instances of Soul connection.
Synchronicity can manifest in an endless number of forms. For example, those who experience synchronious events usually report seeing or hearing meaningful names, numbers, words, or symbols

I get all of that. I'm still not sure why you brought up the tribes though. Anyway it's not that important.

Do you think every history book is all written the same in each country? Do you think the Japanese considered themselves the bad guys during world war 2 vs America in their books? Why is slavery mostly excluded and all the horror that black people faced in America in American history books? Whenever you have books written by men stories are told from their perspective or through an agenda
You know exactly what I mean, you're being obtuse. For instance, there's only one version of the Quran

That's what bugs me out the most about all of it. The differences are so miniscule and ridiculous it really brings home the fact that all of these religions are manmade.

Recently when an Orthodox priest called the Pope a "heretic," I went and read a little about what caused The Great Schism between these two forms of Christianity. I knew it occurred but I didn't know exactly what caused it and it still boggles my mind. Apparently, it's some minor differences in whatever creed they both believe and how baptism should be performed. That's it. That's what has caused over 1,000 years of tension between Catholics and Orthodox Christians.
