I think announcing all the competitors ahead of time really took a little steam out of the Rumble. They should always keep that a surprise. Also Cody being #30 was predictable. I did like the drama between Cody and Gunther at the end there. So it looks like Cody got what he wanted. He left AEW to become the WWE Universal Champion and it looks like it's going to happen. He's gonna be the one to dethrone Roman.
They were in Texas so Booker probably had family in the crowd. They let him come out to his home town pop, do a spinarone, and get eliminated by a current star. No hate. At least that was the only legend/joke entrant.
He should have turned heel by coming out and throwing Cody out. The building would have exploded with confusion.
I like what they did with Gunther. He looked very strong even with losing at the end. Starting off and number 1 and being eliminated last, I expect him to be challenging for the top title by the end of this year, perhaps against Cody.
This Pitch Black match looks cheesy to me. Bray Wyatt always has to come up with these gimmick matches to hide the fact he's a average worker.
What was the point of the last 5 minutes? I actually like the build up for LA Knight, but my God I'm over Wyatt. The Matt Hardy overstylied match has been over for at least 3 years now.
And crap like this is why I've been over Bray Wyatt for some time now. At least this is better than the last year of The Fiend crap. Can't say that he isn't smart cause this plays into all the fantasies of the wannabe Hollywood writers that the WWE employs. So creative will never not have anything for him to do no matter how corny or B movie ish it may be
If Bray Wyatt is adamant about having these gimmick matches and supernatural elements, then he minus whale only do cinematic matches moving forward. The presentation just comes off as corny during a live arena show.

Crowd dead for this match. Alexia like Bray Wyatt is an average worker so it results in horrible matches like this. I can't blame Bianca that much. She had nothing really to work with.
I blame this on Bray as well. I wish they would let Bliss so her own thing. Tying her matches to his bullshit ain't doing anyone any favors.
