Mercedes seriously needs to work on her promos. This shit sounds so scripted and forced. Listen to how Britt Baker talks and how there's a natural rhythm and flow to her promos. Mercedes's stuff sounds so robotic. I will give her credit for knowing the greats like Manami Toyota, Aja Kong and Akira Hokuto and I suppose in a larger scheme of things it won't matter about the promos because in Japan they really just care about the in ring work.

She mentions that she's wrestled the Joshi Stars like Kana (Asuka), Io Shirai and KAIRI but she wrestled them in the safe and soft confines of WWE. In Japan it's a whole different animal. The stiffness gets turned up another notch. She'll be in for a rude awakening if she comes with that soft shit against the likes of Utami, Giulia or Syuri. They'll wrestle circles around her. I hope she can adapt and keep up.

It's an in-character promo man not a legitimate sports press conference lol

Promo sounded okay to me. Promos have never been her strong suit anyway.
Hey, at least she can speak English and connect with an audience outside of Japan.

The Jim Cornette reference was more directed at Cornette followers who use negative Jim Cornette speak like "twinkle toes" to describe particular people in the Elite. Yes Cornette has never specifically said that the Elite were behind the Briscoes not being on TV but since he constantly establishes his hate for the Elite it casts this cloud of suspicion over everything that the Elite do. So if you're a Cornette follower and already hate the Elite you're not going to be objective and give them the benefit of the doubt. Everything becomes their fault. The whole CM Punk fiasco; it's the Elite's fault. FTR not getting their match with the Bucks; it's the Elite's fault. The Briscoes not being on TV; it's the Elite's fault. Someone slipped on a banana peel; it's the Elite's fault.
Some of that stuff is well earned such as the CM Punk stuff.Obviously the Cabana stuff played to make them specifically the Bucks in this instance look good for "saving" his job and make Punk look bad for costing him his job even if Cabana was on TV as much while Punk was there as he was in the year prior to Punk showing up. Also the supposed leaks about the investigation played like that as well. Yes Punk went off on an epic rant which set the fight in motion but they should have also been smart enough to let shit cool off as opposed to confronting a guy who basically said that it's on site. As for the FTR thing that whole thing was a fiasco down to the bogus way the 1rst match and primarily its leadup was booked to how FTR was screwed out of a shot at a rematch playing into a weak attempt to have them avoid each other. And from their booking and the goofy shit they do and goofy characters that they're aligned with(Cutler and Nakazawa specifically) they give some reason to hate on/criticize them. How much of it is them and how much is on Tony Khan is up for debate on that.

Or it could be she's a woman who's not in the men's locker room and vice versa. He can't be called a locker room cancer if he's not in your (women's) locker room in the first place.
Or it could be that the only ones referring to him as a locker room cancer are the Elite, Jericho and all their buddies.
FTR, Hobbes, Brian Cage, and other male wrestlers on the roster seem to think otherwise about Punk.

The only one who's publicly referred to CM Punk as a locker room cancer was Jericho. The Elite have made no statements on CM Punk being a cancer.

So it's the Elites fault that CM Punk can't control his fucking emotions and went into business for himself making the whole company and the owner look bad. Nothing the Elite have ever done equals what Punk did on that night.

Blame Tony Khan for that; he's the Booker but you can't tell these Cornette marks anything. They want to believe everything is some elaborate Elite conspiracy so it is what it is.

No debate necessary. Tony Khan is the Booker. PERIOD! And I couldn't care less about any goofy shit that the Elite do. At the end of the day do they deliver high quality matches? Yes! If you accomplish that you get the thumbs up from me.

Actually it is! You set the events in motion to set the other person who people know can go off from time to time off then the result is on you. They tried to undercut him and make him look bad thru rumors in the dirtsheets then thought that he wasn't going to say anything. They can't be that stupid. And whenever he's had a situation it was never him running to Meltzer or any wrestling "columnist" to sell his story or spread a rumor. He reacts and lets people think whatever.

They are EVPs(Executive Vice Presidents) in the company so they have pull and input hence The Dark Order being created and pushed in a significant way initially. So yes Tony Khan is the booker but let's not act like they just show up and do whatever Tony Khan tells them to do. If so, we should have gotten them vs FTR more than twice in 3 years. Hell Khan booked The Briscoes vs FTR 3 times in 8 months with no TV to build it up.

The goofy shit that The Elite do is a huge representation of how they are perceived particularly for those who aren't hardcore wrestling fans. They present the best video game wrestling matches this side of Twitch and they are cornballs and worse yet this overtly corny shit began with them becoming heels so somebody thought this goofy shit would make them the heels that people would pay to see lose instead of heels that people outside of their most rabid supporters would change the channel on.

I'm still not hearing any CM Punk accountability in your language. All I hear is it's the Elite's fault because they knew that he would react in a certain way yada, yada yada. AGAIN and I'll keep repeating it until it gets drilled into your fat head. Nothing that the Elite was speculated of doing is the equivalent to what CM Punk actually did that night. PERIOD!

In 2019 the EVP's had more control and influence over booking but that ended at the end of 2019. From the start of 2020 up till now the Elite are EVP's in name only. All creative booking decisions are completely Tony Khan. This is part of the speculative reason why Cody left because Cody wanted to handle the booking and Tony told him to kick rocks. Now in regard to how Tony books things that's a whole another matter in itself. I don't know why we didn't get FTR/Bucks more than two times just like I don't know why we didn't get FTR/Lucha Brothers more than two times. What I do know is it's not some grand conspiracy by the Elite to hold FTR down.

This is all subjective bullshit. Cornette thinking marks are all the same. They're logic is It's not really wrestling unless they wrestle the way (style) I want them to wrestle otherwise I'll call it corny or goofy. Or perhaps we can have an actual appreciation for different styles of wrestling and not gate keep to one particular style. Gee, what a concept.

Bro, you nailed it 100%.
That's why AEW is in the position it's in and mismanaged. No one knows who's running what.
They're constantly passing the buck (no pun intended) back and forth as to who's actually in charge of what.
One day it's the EVPs that have all the power, the next day it's TK, the following day it's Warner/Discovery.
Yada yada yada.
Say what you will about WWE, but at the end of the day you knew anything you saw on TV (good or bad) was ultimately greenlit by Vince and now HHH.

Bro, you're purposely being dense at this point. You're an Elite mark, I get it.
If you want to refer to me as a Cornette mark, I'll take it. He still knows way more about ACTUAL wrestling than 99% of the wrestlers today.

Cornette understands the metrics of old school wrestling but he doesn't understand the metrics of modern wrestling. That's where the disconnect comes from. He's just an old man gate keeping at this point. Wrestling has evolved since the 70's and 80's. It's always evolving. There's no golden rule that you have to perform wrestling in a particular way. It's a evolving landscape.

Yes, Jericho was the only one who publicly said Punk was a locker room cancer.
The Elite just used Meltzer (the useful idiot that he is) as their mouthpiece/stooge because they were too scared to say it publicly.

Again with the conspiracies. You guys are sounding like Alex Jones at this point.
