The ball really got rolling I think in the mid-to-late 90s. You had a number of all-Black series with Black directors starting around that time. Jake Steed is a good example.

No. I agree. I think the ball got rolling in the 90s as you say but I think by the mid 2000s was when it was really cranking. Almost machine like if you know what I mean. They had the formula down pat by that point. But a few years later the landscape shifted on them.
