The breakfast club (DJ Envy, CthaGod, and Angela Yee) as you know it is officially over

She's not a new face and she already has podcasts and YouTube shows that are not huge. I don't see her having a radio show being huge, garnering the same level and definitely not more interest than TBC.

But she wants her branch off and have her own show that's all her and I respect it. It doesn't make sense to me to leave TBC to have her own show that won't be nearly as successful.

I could be wrong at the same token, she's been wanting her own show so I'm not mad at her.

I can't speak for Iheart or Yee, but the expectation may not be as big as you are thinking.

Are you saying you'd never leave a winning team/company to start over or just to explore an new opportunity? Personally, I'd rather fail at my new opportunity than not attempt to branch out.

Bruh, I haven't hear anyone looking for the Angela Yee show is all that I'm saying.

She's dumb to leave

This is the classic business move where they promote your ass to fire you.

Nobody gives a fuck about Yee but a small group of women. Her sex show is cringe and she's no longer cute.

And what did she offer the show. Think of the classic interviews...does anyone recall her part in those?

In my opinion she should've been thankful. She was overpaid for her contributions to the show. And then she would leave for certain guests she didn't like.

Man they found a way to get rid of her ass and she thinks it's a come up. I'll give her new show 2 years max before she's unemployed.

"I'm tuning in to hear what Yee has to say" Said no one ever.

Yee has been phoning it in since the Charlemagne and Gucci incident, it's surprising how different she is on other podcasts. Her primary job on the Breakfast Club was to dish out information/news/gossip which can be easily replaced with another woman.

Yep.

And you'd technically be wrong given her success with Lip Service. You can argue the size of her audience but there is an audience. Those are the people being targeted and the market/audience they'll try to increase and those are the people asking for more of Yee.I'm not saying she'll be a success or iheart is right to give her the opportunity. However I have a hard time believing they would take the risk without looking at Yee's analytics.

That's like someone telling Kanye not to be a rapper and why would RF risk the money/time on a producer.he already had success with RF with his production so why rock the boat with constantly trying to show your rap skills. based on the stories, no one cared about Kanye the rapper. Without Kanye believing in himself and Dame willing to take a risk on him, Kanye never reaches his current level of stardom. No one was asking for Kanye West the rapper similar to your opinion that no one is looking for a syndicated show for Yee. I'm sure Dame also didn't think Kanye would be the second biggest act on RF. I'm not saying Yee will be Ellen, Oprah or get anywhere Kanye level of fame/money. The example is purely based on taking a risk by leaving your comfort zone or stepping away from what you are known for.

Lov'um or hat'um....Charlemagne carried that show. Interviews without him were hella bland. Envy and Yee gonna have to find something else cause Char finna be aaight. He probably launchin his solo ish sometime soon.
Angela Yee is good too. She partnered with Styles P.
Her joint "Juice for Life" store is located in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn.
Her rapper/girlfriend Lore'l works there from time to time.

Envy does real estate.

They are all good in my book.
Besides. their stock is WAY UP because of the show.
So, people/companies are probably knocking their doors down.

i think think this is a mistake but i wish her luck on her next endeavor......gotta strike while the iron is hot. she brought a good balance to the show that will be missed she can easily be replaced but can she even out with the other two? that will be the interesting question. 10+ years is a great run.

They talk real freaky on that show.

I think she be frontin on how freaky she is though.

I didn't mean I've never watched. I just never watched enough to judge/remember what role she plays. From what I can remember, her Serious show was based around similar content.

The times I watched Yee seemed to somewhat deflect talking about her own experiences. At least compared to the other women on the show. Based on what you are saying I'm wrong, but it come off like Yee would avoid exposing herself. However, her friends/co-host put their business out there for the public. It just didn't sit well with me. It came off like she was taking advantage of them. It's hard to explain but her role seemed to be indirectly trying to say I'm sexually open but not a hoe like them. To me, if that's your people you wouldn't do that to them. Again, I'm literally basing my thought off two or three shows I watched years ago so my take could be completely off.

It would be like going to Drink Champs and Nore wasn't drinking. Even with Nore drinking, he's clearly taking advantage of the guest state of mind, but at least he seems to be taking part in drinking with them.

Man, you are spot on with her, I always felt that way about her even before I started watching LS.

It always seemed like she befriends celebs and secretly gets info about them because she seems to know everything about everybody.

She always knows everybody business but never reveals anything about herself.

She has told some stuff about her sexual experiences on LS and I always think in the back of my head she making it up but who knows lol.:dunno:

I used to listen to the show regularly on my morning commutes to work.
Ever since the pandemic and I started working from home, I don't listen anymore (along with most other radio).
I know during the pandemic they were each broadcasting remotely from their homes.
I don't miss all the gossip from the show and particularly Yee. Not sure how her new show will be.
I'm guessing it will cater to women who like all the gossip.
I'm wondering if they will even replace her on the show and just have CTG and Envy as a duo.

In this day and age? Yes, they will have a female voice on the show...

The rest of them is low class hoes without corperate sponsors.
Yee still had to be mindful, her 9-5 is on a public stage with sponsors

I get that and I'm not necessarily knocking her for not exposing herself. My issue is taking advantage of people you are calling your friends. Because it's a show that Yee I assume owns, it could be argued that she is exploiting their friendship for profit.

She didn't need to go as hard as them, but you shouldn't be completely on the side lines either or ring them in when they are giving it up too much. It's similar to the expectation some people had of Ja Rule with the Irv situation on Drink Champs. Some people have the opinion that it was Ja's responsibility as Irv's friend to either stop him completely or check him harder.

If Yee is conservative when it comes to speaking on her experiences then she should frame the show in that lane completely. You can have a show that talks about women's sexual experiences without allowing your friends to make themselves look crazy. From what I saw, it came of like Yee thought of them more as talent than friends.

Now if Lip Service is a partnership between the woman on the show and they are equally benefitting, my opinion changes slightly.

I've seen a few of her interviews outside of TBC. I don't know the direction of her new show, but I saw a different side to her that you don't really see on the TBC. I don't watch Lip Service, but I've seen clips. I'm all for betting on yourself and she has a few streams of income, that will buy her some time if this doesn't work.

I mean if you tell your business to someone who's segment is called the Rumor Report I'd assume you don't have an issue with your business becoming public knowledge lol .

We all have the friend who tells everyone's business but their own. It's a little different when that is someone's job but the same rules apply. People who tell your business may not do it to harm you. They just run their mouth too much. Unless you don't mind something being shared, don't tell that friend. You can't judge them because that is who they are. Now if that is the person's profession you never know when they will give it up just for a pay day. Literally selling me out is worse than running your mouth to other friends/family, but the same rule applies and it would be on me for sharing.
