This was much better than I thought it would be. I wouldn't call it a reboot though.
It seems more like a project that was mostly competed by Fox before the merger and Disney said, "fuck it, release it on streaming so we can make some money off this." I doubt they have plans to continue the storyline with any of these characters.
That is honestly my main gripe with the entire franchise. I really liked the Adrien Brody movie 'Predators' and thought they could have kept going in that direction with the story. But they never continue with what they start. It's just like the Terminator franchise. It's hard to buy into long term storytelling when you just know that the next movie will be another 'reboot'.
They basically throwing shit at a dart board and seeing what sticks.
- Predator - direct hit
- Predator 2 - good hit but slightly off center
- AvP - nice throw but a miss nonetheless
- AvP 2 - never even came close to the board
- Predators - direct hit
- The Predator - another throw so far from the target at the dart went out a window
- Prey - good hit but slightly off center again
