I can say this as a student from Morehouse. If she doesn't know who she is now and where she's from, she's going to learn soon.
I learned so much about Black Entrepreneurship from Morehouse its crazy. I learned more in one class there than I did attending K-12 and the other colleges I've attended over the course of my life.
That young Lady is on her way to a great education taught from a Black perspective for a Black Female. Her learning experience and development is going to be very unique and positive.
Y'all can say what y'all want about the situation, but I'm giving her and her family props for choosing Spelman for the young Sister. I know that a lot of thought went into their choice, because they could choose any school in the country. They chose wisely.

School was open in late 1800's post Civil War when blacks were barely a decade out of slavery in a city that wouldnt fund public high schools for blacks.. let alone colleges. Saying that it was started by whites isnt that big of a revelation. I can say this first hand, the education that a Black man can get at Morehouse is beyond measure. You have access to a curriculum that is focused on you and your Blackness, and how you fit in this world. You're surrounded by intellectual Black men (both student body and faculty) who tell you the real deal... not this jaded white supremacist bullshit that you're going to get from almost every white institution, Ivy or not. Some of the class discussion I've been a part of was raw and marvelous. I've had professors say, "White people are devious and full of shit!"... just like that!
I received a letter from JP Morgan Chase offering to fly me out to New York to meet with Bankers and other Morehouse Alumns whom are in the JP Morgan Chase company. What access am I missing out on? I may be missing out on hanging around white folk who pretend that they like me because I went to the same school as they did.
Morehouse isn't just a good school... It's a great fucking school. I can't speak for the other HBCUs, but I can for damn sure speak on Dear Old Morehouse!
