Thor: Love and Thunder - Spoiler Alerts not necessary

Question fellas:
Was I the only one who rolled my eyes at this part:

1. When Jane came flying in on Valkyrie's horse
2. Then she told Thor "Its okay I got him"

Wait hold up, bitch what??? :hmm:
Didn't Gorr just kick Thor's ass & almost stab him with the Necro sword
And you talking about I got this by myself? :rolleyes2:

3. So they got Thor trying to pull stormbreaker out the ground
While Jane is giving the "say my name right" speech :rolleyes2:
And of course she had to do the Tessa Thompson strut...

Tessa Thompson is one of the serious no-body havingest women in history. She is flat as a board. Ass is okay, but somehow I still wanna fuck...and I don't know why.

She got swag

Yeah man, I'm sure some liked that part
But the shit is getting really predictable for me :dunno:
I'm getting tired of this same bullshit formula
Its just coming across as corny to me.....

I hear you.
But once you know it's coming, it makes it somewhat easier to stomach.
It's Disney's shallow, predictable, ham fisted way of presenting the "strong female character".
Pretty much every female they write is damn near identical when it comes to their personality and presentation.
- Wise.
- Worthy.
- Capable.
- Intelligent.
- Inspirational.
- In touch & compassionate.
- Naturally better than the male hero.
(Even the female "villains" manage to save or redeem themselves with no real help from the male hero...)

In short: Very predictable...

As a writer, I hate tropes. It's like maddening. Now sometimes, a movie such as this is fun enough to make you forget the obvious easy Trope that they always seem to do, but don't know woman you know act like this.

Even if you know a black woman hero, she does this exact thing but she doesn't differently but in many movies it's the goddamn same and you're like why do they have the same right or writing for every single female or did it just say hey there's an easy button right there let me push it

I hate always bringing up my book (actually, I don't) but to have a character who discovers her husband's affair (it had been over for a year) and then sits on it for another year is uncommon

She does a few other uncommon things throughout the book because...fucking because. People don't always follow scripts.

Most times in life, it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and it's a fucking seagull.

God I hate the easy button

Thor: Love & Thunder (in a nutshell)
- The continued "deconstruction" of the popular male (especially White) superhero by turning him into a joke.
- Female empowerment. No man is allowed to save, teach or be "better" than any woman/girl in any film or series.
- LGBTQ representation in every Disney theatrical release (Eternals, Dr. Strange, Lightyear & Thor). (Wakanda Forever is up next) :hmm:
- Teaching children that everyone is their own hero.
- Weak set up for the next or future film.

This shit is so tired...

Are you really on this board saying white men are the victims?

So who defeated Thanos? Man or woman?
Who was anointed his successor?
Who set the multiverse in place in Spiderman?
Who saved the world in Falcon/Winter Soldier?
Who saved the world in Shang Chi?
Who saved the world in Moon Knight?
Is shazam a man or woman?
Black Adam?
Batman?
Superman?
Aquaman?
Flash?
What sex and race are 90% of the super heroes in all these movies?

In each one of these movies, a man, almost always white is the only person that can stop the danger.

In what world do you live in where the majority of super hero movies have women beating the main villain at the end?

Please; before we go down this particular road, (or you get caught up in your feelings) I want you to re-read all of my previous posts and point out EXACTLY where I said or implied that "White men are victims"?
:please:

Please help me.
Because I really want to understand specifically how you made that giant leap in logic.

You imply white men are the main victims of the continued deconstruction of superheroes.

not a lot of action, looks like marvel movies are going to be 2 hours plus dramas with gay shit mixed in they way they going

Wasn't any drama in this shit though. Marvel is clearly tired of making superhero movies. So their movies/shows are about everything but the superhero genre for the first 80% then they cram some superhero stuff at the end because they feel like they have to.

Just look at their streaming shows.

Moon Knight
Hawkeye
Ms Marvel
She Hulk: Attorney at Law.

This movie was nothing but a slapstick, SNL comedy sketch until the final battle and that only lasted a few minutes and they went right back to slapstick.

There comic book characters who would really expect more

Cats need to realize there are as many if not more women going to see movies as men and these companies are not going to throw away half their potential profit for cats feelings.

So pretty much if you're wanting to watch shows where only men go out and do all the action and the women stay at home and cook, you minus whale just watch TV Land because that kind of entertainment is never coming back.

It's as if Women watch to be entertained, while Men watch to criticize....

My wife was the one who was more excited for Dr. Strange 2 and Thor 4. Hell, she watched Moon Knight without me and all the X-Men films on Disney+.

She won't admit it, but she's more of a Comic Book movie nerd than I am at this point.

Same thing with a few women I work with. They're always the first to talk about any new Comic Book movie on a Monday morning.

Women enjoy these films more so than men. While us men are busy criticizing and picking these films apart, women just watch and take them in for their entertainment purposes.

I mean, look at all the film nerd critique YouTube channels. Hardly any of them are woman hosted...

Imagine if women did the same thing men do.

"Here they go shoving this men are better at everything down out throats"
"This is just them propping up men as superior"

Like you said they just watch the movies and enjoy them and they have a MUCH bigger case of messages being shoved down their throats than men do.

Men (CACs) had a good run, over 100 years of being the main focus on film.

Now they are all up in arms that others (Women and POC) are starting to be the focus and they just lose their fucking minds.

Smh as cats using the same talking points these CACs use about the "woman agenda" taking over....

As if entertainment wasn't male driven their whole lives....

5/10

Too much forced humor. Humor is great when it's mixed into the story. 80% of this movie is only there to setup a joke.

Completely agree. I've said about Rsgnarok that they put in jokes just to have jokes and nothing has changed with this movie.

Bro, women aren't even the focus. They just get a couple scenes. Then the men save the day every time. And the MCU has just a few POC heroes, it's still 90% white and mail and dudes are going ballistic.

Think about how triggered dudes were with that one 30 second scene in Endgame when the women characters get together. 30 seconds out a s damn near 3 hour movie. The other 2:59:30 of being entirely male dominated wasn't enough. They needed that 30 seconds too lmao.

Laughs,Loss and Love

PRAISE: In this fourth Thor adventure Thor embarks on a journey unlike anything he's ever faced -- a quest for inner peace. However, his retirement gets interrupted by Gorr the God Butcher, a galactic killer who seeks the extinction of the gods.
This movie brims with comedy and actually reminded me of Flash Gordon which is a good and bad thing. I thought the entire cast did a good job for the most part including: Chris Hemsworth; Christian Bale; Tessa Thompson; Jaimie Alexander; Taika Waititi; Russell Crowe and Natalie Portman.
Once again I understood the plight of the villain and actually Gorr the God Butchers backstory playing out helped with the aforementioned.
When the movie focuses on Love and loss and the possibility of experiencing it or fighting it,the film really does a fine job of displaying it.
The SFX and CGI was really stunning. The way they used the mix of color and black and white was great.
Some of the running gags really worked and actually avoided becoming annoying. Oh and the imagery used for a couple of characters I have only seen in comics until now was pretty brilliant.

PROBLEMS: Some of the campiness and jokes in some scenes went on a bit too long.It waters down some of the more serious story threads in the movie at times. I found myself begging the movie to leave this scene and place and pick up the pace.I keep hearing a lot was cut from the movie so that may have altered how much better the movie could have been

Scale of 1 to 10 a 7½

Well damn. My daughter (12 yrs old) also gave it a 7.5

Based on these reviews I'm gonna skip the free download and save myself time.
The "eat my hammer" footage confirmed my disinterest and disappointment.

Something tells me
They're gonna slide some down low shit into the Black Panther 2 movie, also

:fuckyousay::fuckyousay::fuckyousay:
It was in the first BP but they cut it. The "move or be moved" (something like that) chic flirted with Okoye. The scene was cut thankfully, but can be found on YouTube I think.

Well I wouldn't say all that. The running joke through the movie is that Jane keeps coming up with bad catch phrases.
