Correction fam, I misread the statement:
"According to DNR, more than 25 people have died so far this year on waterways."
That would include other waterways besides Lake Lanier this year. But regardless, that's 25 deaths so far for 2022.
Also interestingly,

I go there all the time and I've never had an issue. I think people that die there don't follow the rules of being out there. I fish out there and have a good time.
People this could be true I cannot find the answer fully online but I did come across a good number of people who died over the last few months from news reports so it could be true.
And you keep tempting the grim with your statements you better be careful.
It definitely stands out considering the amount of deaths and history of the former Black self-sustaining town it was built on top of.

When I found out the history of that lake I came to that conclusion.
