Comparing metrics from shows 2 - 4+ years ago to shows from less than a year ago is not really scientific.....
However I will concede that I do believe the overall numbers are down. Rory and Mal did bring the average age of the show and its listeners down.... more into the target 25-35 range.....
Ish and Ice definitely trend upward on that range.
But I would like to see the Patreon and Spotify numbers as well. Because overall Joe is still what like the top 50 podcast.... yeah at one point he may have been top 10-20, but againt there are 100s if not 1000s of new podcasts starting each day AND more celebrities have gotten into the game the past year.
Hell I used to really be into Bill Burr's pod...looking back at my history I haven't downloaded/ listened to his pod in over a year more like 2.
So there is listener / audience drop-off.
But without the full picture, everyone is just grasping at straws.
