Discussion: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - confirmed Sam Raimi directing UPDATE: REVIEWS!

I wasn't impressed with :

That whole universe they were weak as hell in that universe. I mean honestly any hype about Fantastic Four....killed it for me. I don't want to see none of them people now.

Wanda went through they ass like butter.

Like I said this shit was MID. With a lesser budget this should've been season 2 of WandaVision.

I think the most hurtful shit for me was the cameos. I think I came in overhyped. I thought this shit was gonna be on some Endgame/Infinity War level. Hell, I at least thought Spiderman like alright we got a Daredevil cameo, we got Tobey and the other cat. Jamie Foxx came back.

They go to that alternative universe and I expected to see introduction to mutants and other characters. I might need to watch it again to appreciate it because they did some good things.

But in the comics, other than Captain Marvel, which of them could really challenge her?

Idk about most folks experience but when Patrick Stewart rolled out (all pun intended) on screen, the whole theater gasped and applauded. I really enjoyed that moment wondering where the X-Men would fit into the MCU. That might be a 20 year project but regardless, I was excited to see it and excited on where it’s going to go.

As for this films darkness and horror, I feel like they really got it right. It still felt like a Marvel film but with an added and unexpected twist of jump scares and scored strings. Very rare in Marvel films but worked out great in this one. Gonna have to watch again soon.

Lastly: what’s the significance of Strange with the third eye? I didn’t quite understand that one. The natural assumption was that an evil Strange made its way through the Multiverse into his regular world but idk. Was that it?

one of the best scenes was when mordo described dream walking and the music that was scored to that scene felt like something out of a horror flick . strang was told he would pay a heavy price by using the darkhold and he dream walked with his variant corspe. we just starting to see the first symptoms of that price. for reference look at the what if episode with dr strange trying to save his christine from death. it gives you an idea of how bad it can get for strange. also, notice the look on his face when he realized that wanda destroyed the darkhold in all universes. he wanted to read that whole shit.

Based on this cinematic universe though they came across weak as hell. They were just weak over there. They put up a bigger fight at Mount Woundagore and shit.

If they do Secret Wars right, it will blow Infinity Wars away!!!
Never heard of it but I’m speaking strictly on the impact of those films to the general public. To top it…..it just has to be perfect. To me it’s like a team drafting Michael Jordan and then trying to find another one. It may happen….I just don’t see it.

Agree. Captain marvel should been more challenging. That whole fight scene was too short tho smh.
They were the flunkies. If they want me to believe that this version of those characters are weaker than the other ones then fair enough but I don’t think that was ever established.

I’m shocked people had that response to Xavier. Mine was shocked by Reed Richards but the trailer spoiled the Xavier cameo to the point I think we thought it was gonna be bigger than it was.

And nobody gives a fuck about them characters lol
It was like oh they're dead, oh well
It was almost like a “fuck you” from Marvel. Oh you want Fantastic Four and X-men in this universe? Alright…I’ll give it to you but they gonna be weak and it’s gonna be brief and I’m gonna kill them all. Very disappointed that was their introduction.

The impact of Secret Wars would be bigger because it would include mutants fantastic 4 avengers space shit everyone. Shit would be great!

B level comic character Dr strange >>> A plus level comic character Batman :eek2:....

The power of Marvel Studios!!!
I think people just played out with Batman. He will always profit but a new character even if it is b or c list will gather intrigue if done right.

That's what it was meant to be. How was it going to expand on no way home when it was wrapped up at the end?. And yes it was an extension of Wanda vision although I'm not sure if that is a good thing.
I mean the MCU introduction of other versions of characters (i.e. Miles Morales) in a meaningful way and not just fodder for the suddenly maniacally delusional Scarlet Witch.

marevl studios built their studio on the strength of their b and c list characters. that's amazing feat unto itself. wb moving bat man v superman from the same release date as captain america civil war added insult to injury.
That’s beyond amazing and incredible. But Marvel Studios is great! DC is on some bullshit and beyond fucked up. And it’s really sad:smh:

This fam. All of this. I came in with the same expectations.

Ok I agree. That’s probably the only thing because right now I think a lot of people are waiting on that introduction….this to me doesn’t count. I think a lot of us expected this to be the introduction.
They are building it just like they built the beginning. And remember the 1st Cap and Thor wasn’t great. They were solid just like these movies have been. And I expect them to get better…

Not true because morbius and venom didn’t perform better; Wonder Woman 1st but not 2nd; aquaman was trash but it made money though…
