Here's another way to look at it. You can make the democrats give you more than one piece of cornbread but you'll hit a brick wall trying to do the same with republicans. Lets be clear the republican party is the white man's/good ole boys last existence.

Well that isn't exactly true. Their interest is not to have what they gained taken away from them and there are I am sure plenty of other reasons they vote democrat.
The problem is voting is just part of the process. The other part is lobbying your representatives to do what you want and get what you need. We can play ping pong all day voting between the two parties but that won't make a difference. People won't even come out for townhall meetings, school board meetings, etc...
Those places should be jammed packed every meeting. Your state and US representatives phones lines, emails, towns hall meeting, etc....should be jammed. Most people do nothing and few people do a lot and they need the help and support to make shit happen.
You aint getting shit from the republican party because they can't give you nothing because the people who they represent stay on their ass.
