I was not ready
Currently watching her as the lead on the HBO Max 30 min comedy, Hacks. Pretty good thus far. Interesting contrasting that to her role on Mare. I
like her cadence / delivery of lines. We’ve seen 4 eps of Hacks in recent weeks

How are you liking Mare?

What's cool too is that she's a skilled writer (Maria Sten from Reacher) - saw this on her Wiki - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maria_Sten#Career

Thanks for the Hacks season 2 link. Gonna be good. Enjoyed having that show in the rotation last year. Lol - Devon Sawa keeps showing up. Neighborhood kid - grew up with him and his brother. Hard to believe the "Stan" music video was some 22 years ago!

Tokyo Vice

In 1993, When he was hired as a rookie reporter for Yomiuri Shimbun. As a cadet, he describes being taken under the wing of Sekiguchi, an older detective. Adelstein was initially assigned to "tacky" Saitama, and the memoir covers his next 12 years as a staffer for the paper, describing 80-hour work weeks, relationship difficulties, and the interactions between crime reporters and the police. Specific cases involve the search for the killer of Lucie Blackman, and the memoir also details death threats after he published an expose on Tadamasa Goto. He also uncovered that Saitama Prefecture was altering scientific data on dioxin contamination.

I like this, it is a different take on cop dramas that all take place in some hick town and the only person who can solve the murder is a drunk divorcee cop. The white chic is annoying though.

Gonna start watching this one soon. Have the first 2 eps set aside.

just finished severance
such a good finale
awesome show
and the imaging and the directing were top notch

finished from
to say the finale was disappointing would be an understatement
especially when compared to severance

but i really wish we could have a few ones and dones
why does it need multiple series and episodes to tell a story

this is where the brits have the best tv.

I listened to a few non-spoiler podcasts, and they agreed that the Severance season finale was great and they like how Stiller is establishing himself as a director.

Agreed re: shorter seasons and series. I am a big fan where they leave viewers wanting more and not running plotlines into the ground, and also not too short like movies that can feel too rushed or condensed.

I watched the first episode and like it thus far. it's shot right in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Chi.

Im glad Killing Eve is over. I enjoyed the first season and i like Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh but the last season was kind of silly and predictable.

Moon Knight Episode 3 was great and bittersweet. It was like watching Indiana Jones,A Superhero movie and Stargate all at once RIP Gaspard Ulliel

Gonna start the newest season of Better Call Saul this week.

Also, season 4 - ep 4 of Goliath, and ep 3 of Winning Time.

Might check out the start of Outer Range and need to circle back to Pachinko.

We Own this City and Barry coming next week.

Yeah...

That outer range seems like I gotta be in the right frame of mind for that.

first 2 eps are good
yellowstone / xfiles / american gothic

That's what I was hearing too. Chris Ryan of The Watch has a similar take -

Bro.

Bro.

Brooooo.

You just named 2 of my all time favorite shows that shaped my opinions of modern TV and film.

That is high praise.
first 2 eps are a solid start...

If I remember correctly, he has only seen the first 1 - 2 eps.

It's funny to listen to him and regular cohost Andy Greenwald's banter on the podcast.

Chris watches way more TV than Andy, so he's often got takes on everything - numerous series, sports, etc. He is married, but doesn't have kids.

Andy is married with 2 kids, watches less stuff, and was away for quite a bit a few years back when he was behind the scenes on the Briarpatch series. Missed out on watching a bunch of stuff at that time.
