Lot of what Putin does is drop subtle messages, taking trademarks and patents is a dog whistle. Using all the IT products of the West could result in your shit getting took and backdated with prior art before you are even aware of what happened to you.

I have been warning people and countries for years about dealing with the U.S., using their IT products, or other garbage.

Is this war losing media momentum?

Maybe they Frustrated that NATO didn’t directly attack Russia…

They research and creating stories that will cover Yemen, Syria, Somalia and Palestine

Gas prices might have them staying home

probably pissed off about all the money that Ukraine have received

But the collapse of the Soviet Union made NATO’s purpose less clear. In fact, in 1990, as the Cold War drew to a close, President Mikhail Gorbachev proposed the Soviet Union join NATO. At the time, Gorbachev was negotiating German reunification with the then U.S. Secretary of State James Baker. “You say that NATO is not directed against us,” he said, referring to the rival Warsaw Pact, an alliance between the Soviet Union and Communist countries in Eastern Europe, “that it is simply a security structure that is adapting to new realities. Therefore, we propose to join NATO.”

Baker reportedly dismissed the proposal as a “dream” but it has been floated several times since. Giving Russia membership would have required NATO,

After the Cold War, what happened between Russia and NATO?

In 1991 Boris Yeltsin, the first president of the new Russian state, wrote to NATO, reiterating Gorbachev’s proposal. He echoed calls made by former Warsaw Pact countries like Hungary to join the Western alliance, and called NATO membership a “long-term political aim” of Russia.

Call me pussy, too.
I understand small wars and conflicts but this type of shit is the end of humanity.
I want to see youngins grow up in better and safer world.

A lot of cats on here have no idea about the horrors of war. I know a few military guys who have lost their shit completely...

What part to be exact?
This is what historically occurred.
Please refute with facts and dates the part that is untrue and propaganda driven.

ALL fake.

NATO is specifically built to defend against USSR/Russia/communism.

You think Gorbachev didnt know that?

To be clear, Russia would want to join NATO to protect itself from itself?

I have never seen a document where the US or NATO agree to never expand beyond certain borders.

And if Russia had an agreement for limits to NATO expansion, how it could want NATO membership at the same damn time?

Makes no sense whatsoever.

Exactly...shit it's right in his post.

This is called calling someone's bluff.

If you say it’s fake, that’s all I need.

I mean, why wouldn’t I take the word of a guy on a porn board over an international publication?

Im not saying the publication is wrong. Im saying its lip service from Russian leadership. Asking for NATO membership is fake. Its so fake that its laughable.

Again, NATO literally exists to help fight Europe protect itself from Russia.

Presenting this Russian request as legitimate is what makes this absurd.

It makes no sense because at that point NATO may as well devolve itself.

Exactly, Russia is trying to call the West's bluff by asking for NATO membership, but thats all it is. They never wanted in and never would have gotten in. Its literally just lip service.

I think the talks about NATO joining was in the 60’s

while the expansion talks was in the 90’s but never was signed(from my limited google searches)

Sure except that those countries are still scared of Russia. Why do people think Ukraine been begging to get into NATO? They knew the invasion was coming a long time ago.

NATO was FOUNDED to protect Europe from not Russia, but the Soviet Union and now exists to protect members from ANY country…ie, China.

All youve given me is a hunch as to why you think their request to join was disingenuous. My reason is based on history.

Russian lost wayyyyy more people in ww2 than any other country..20 some million or so.

Security is behind their reason to join.

There was a member on here who posted it a while back.
I'm not gonna search it. Noam Chomsky spoke on this in great detail. I will try to find that video.

The agreement to not expand was never signed, from what I read.

But, there was also an agreement between Russia, the US and Ukraine offering security agreements in return for Ukraines nukes..

so much for that agreement
