You kind of missed the point, or wasn't listening when he was assisting the rescue team during the day. It was then when he chose to become a hero for the people of Gotham to inspire to be, than just yet another person trying to get vengeance from it.
that doesn't sound right for Batman
how they build that arc could be interesting
I'll reserve judgment until I see the film

They don't hear you. They think this is some "new" arc. It's how it's always been. Even in the Bale Batman movies. When Batman decided to take the fall for Harvey. He did it because it's what the people needed. He could have easily kept doing his thing or just went into hiding by just being Bruce. There are other examples in other Batman stories. This is his inner battle, putting his desire for vengeance and revenge aside for the greater good and doing the right thing.

thats very different than choosing to be a "beacon" or "role model"

opposing archetypes

He became the beacon in the return. Same arc.
true
how they wrote it is part of the problem with that trilogy

hence why Rises its less loved than DK

flipping archetype requires stronger writing than bat movies previously showcased

Movie was far too long.

It was decent but they literally could have cut 30-45 minutes from this movie and been straight.

If there was a post scene credit I didnt care. I was ready to go. They needed to add it in the 3 hours of the main content. Shit was three hours and felt like 5.

To sum it up the movie wasn't good enough for how long it was.

This shit was motherfuking boss. No God damn lie, this shit was boss. It was epic like dark night. I don't know if it was better than Dark Knight because I don't want to give a recency bias, but it was epic like Dark Knight

It was like a two-part movie but all rolled into one

It worked.
A major reason why it worked is we were able to skip a lot of the bullshit about him trying to become batman.
He'd been batman for 2 years doing his thing and getting in where he thought he fit in.
And then the events of the entire movie which enlightened him using his detective skills led him to the path he ended on.

Movie was cool. Definitely too long though. Like unnecessarily long. And the riddler stunk as a villain.

This Batman was dope tho.

I'd give the movie a 7/10.

The batman, the first wonder woman, Zack Snyder's justice league, Aquaman ,shows that you can make good super hero film s without dumb jokes that interrupts tense , dramatic moments or breaks up the flow of the film. Look at how bad joss whedons justice league was when they tried that shit. Shazam's humor was appriate because the hero was a 14 year old kid in a man's body and the movie had the charm of a family friendly film. Disney ,MCU should follow the the batman's example for how to handle properties like punisher , daredevil, etc.

Im hoping the rumors are true about a 4 hour R rated version . One scene that was cut hhas already been spoiled but i would love to see what
is in the additional hour.

I hope they don't use the "joker" from the last arkham scene in the next movie. His voice & laugh is not it.
