TV SHOWS / SERIES - Seen any good ones lately? Please feel free to post reviews / feedback / trailers / articles / TV news / all that shit ...

Throw in Rotten Tomatoes & Metacritic too.

Ok it's good in theory but Google essentially does that already now that I did a brief focus group with me and 2 friends.

For example, Google Amazing Race, click all watch options and that's pretty much my idea, it's not perfect but that is all the information in a nutshell I would want to share.

The Responder on BBC has a slow build but once I started to see what the main characters life was all about and the situations he finds himself in it becomes a very involving watch.

Agreed. Looking forward to seeing how it finishes up. Been recommending it to a few people offline of late.

I've really enjoyed the 1st 4 eps of Pam and Tommy, part of it is i remember living through that era and being on the web already in middle school yrs

Thanks for the new recommendations.

Been watching Pam & Tommy. Have seen the 4 eps thus far. The 1995-1996 nostalgia makes it interesting. Great performance from Lily James. She's got Pam's look & voice down quite well.

Gonna finish up The Responder next week. Just have eps 4 & 5 left.

That was the 1st yr of middle school for me, didn't have a pc at the crib yet but was using the web at the library, don't even think i was using yahoo yet was using altavista, infoseek, metacrawler, lycos search engines. Also remembered using gopher which was the competitor to the world wide web that many ppl dont know about

Agreed. 95-96 for me was the end of junior high and start of HS.

Hmmmm

Damn that is extensive. But it looks a little overwhelming at first glance.

I was thinking you click Ozarks right?

it shows immediately where it's streaming series description seasons reviews (maybe written by H Funk???) Trailer.

Where to buy the dvd, cast listing and any merchandise connected to the series.

It's like Wikipedia imdb etc combined but simplified.

I gotta go into a deep dive for a few days. If you don't see me that's what I'm doing. I think this idea is worth a few hours.

What you think?
rotten tomatoes already does this

Billions there are still a lot of reasons to love this show its why it's more than just background noise to me.
The way Kate left Chuck and went to Prince was seductive. From her joy of walking into the new Prince capital, waiting for Chuck on his stoop, walking back to her car and all of her monologs in between.
The promise of power and money vs the almost guarantee of power and money NO CONTEST !!

BEL AIR This dramatic version of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air is pretty good Jabari Banks is able to channel the mannerisms of Will Smith. The atmosphere of the comedy show easily translates .The writers take situations that played out in one episode in the original series and expand on them . They make Carlton so unlikable...Ugh !!

Snowpiercer

season 3 started ...hope this dude acting got better ...:hmm:

I really can’t fuck with the lead - Diggs - in anything. But is the show worth tryin to get passed his acting?

A couple more episodes remaining with 1883, and around 3 or so with The Righteous Gemstones' 2nd season.

Looking forward to starting Goliath (season 3) and Reacher soon. As well as Peaky Blinders, as previously mentioned.

Young Wallander season 2

Kurt investigates a mysterious, grisly death that seems connected to an incendiary national news story that was one of Rask’s first cases in Malmö.

Severance

Adam Scott leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure, which surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in “work-life balance” is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work… and of himself.

Gonna start watching this one soon. Have the first 2 eps set aside.

I’m actually goin to binge the Netflix MARVEL series before they ghost em 3/1

I only finished S1 of DAREDEVIL and S1 of PUNISHER - recently got back to ALIAS and finished S1 of that now too.

any recommendations on which ones (aside from IRON FIST which every body shits on) to miss if I have to? And to be SURE I watch?

It's crazy because even though i found the ending a bit lackluster i was still satisfied with how things turned out.

Agreed - there was tension there throughout, and closure to the stories ... without it going over the top ridiculous. I was glad to see Rachel find her voice & speak up. With it being a limited series - doesn't appear as though there would be a follow up. But wouldn't have minded additional episodes to see how the characters' stories played out. On a side note though - Mare of Easttown was supposed to be 1 season and done, but there has been speculation that maybe it will return for a 2nd season one day. No plans just yet, but the door isn't fully closed.

Tehran on Apple T.V. was really, really, good. It's an espionage show about Israel trying to bomb Iran's nuclear reactor. It centers on a female Mossad agent tasked with entering Iran and hacking Iran's air defense computer systems so that Israeli planes can bomb the reactor.

It's a psychological thriller with lots of twists. And I know it's fiction, but it provided a really unique view of what everyday life inside Iran probably looks like. Only season 1 is out: it has eight 50 minute episodes. I binged it in two days. Season 2 comes out in May. Like I said, it's really good. It's a must watch if you're into foreign spy dramas. I'd give it an 8.5 out of 10.

Sounds good!

The Porter

:money:

Drama about railway workers in Canada and the United States who joined together to give birth to the world’s first black union and sparked a civil rights movement. Set in the roar of the 1920s, this eight-part series follows the journeys of four ambitious souls who hustle, dream, cross borders and confront barriers in the fight for liberation—on and off the railways that crossed North America.

Co-signing this. Great show. Really humanizes the characters, whether Israeli or Iranian.

Thanks for recommending it, @Black A. Camus

I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but was texting with my mom the other day and trading some recent series recommendations. I remembered she has a few months remaining on their Apple+ free year trial at home, and mentioned I heard Tehran was worth a watch. She replied back the next day - "Thank you for recommending Tehran. Watched the first ep - loved it! Same director as "Fauda" - one of my favorites."

Friendly reminder for the Peaky Blinders fans ... season 6 debuts this Sunday on BBC One.

Unsure what the Netflix release / roll-out schedule is like this time around, as the series began airing back in 2013, but we watched it (seasons 1 - 5) over the course of about 6 months in 2020-2021.
