They did that to themselves first by making it main roster lite when they moved to USA and then with this reboot which alienated some longtime NXT fans while not really motivating anyone else to watch.
Steiner is by far the best young prospect that they have. See how much you can put on his shoulders to prepare him for the main roster.

I think they still would have lost tonight but it does make me wander for a second did they call an audible and lose after he went down. Injuries like that, the wrestler knows they gonna be riding the bench for half of 2022

The ratings weren't much higher pre-2.0 than they are now. I think WWE expected an initial drop in ratings with 2.0.
Their thought is that the ceiling with 2.0 (in terms of ratings and developing future stars) is higher than it was with the old NXT model.
We'll see in a couple of years whether they're right or not.

I'm pretty sure they had to call an audible on the finish. Most of the Lucha Bros finishes involve both of them. That shit looked nasty. :smh:

Could Stephanie and Trips be on the outs and because they're a public company they don't want to announce a divorce and potentially hurt the stock price before being being sold so this is how they're getting back at Triple H. Them taking over NXT just seems so personal.

It's personal, but it ain't that personal. It's just Vince & HHH.

Vince took that shit personally when everybody was acting like HHH was going to be WWE's savior when the product went to shit. He let HHH quarterback NXT, NXT lost the war, and now Vince is like "See, I know what the fuck I'm talkin' about. Y'all ain't about to turn my product into this shit and it doesn't even beat the competition, get rid of all this shit..."

At this point, HHH's probably just hanging around until WWE gets sold or the old man croaks and maybe he passes it to Stephanie instead of Bruce Pritchard and 'em.

I have to watch more of Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams but I've heard good things about them. The women are a little better. IO and Raquel should do well on the main roster. I like Kayden Carter & Kacy Catanzaro. Both are tiny but that really doesn't matter in the women's division.

2.0 is like they're trying to create wrestlers in a shop. You get your personality from being out on the indies, working high school gyms. You just can't give someone a skateboard, lip ring and colorful suit, (Cora Jade), have her smile and create a superstar. Doesn't work like that.

It is kinda like that doofus Brendan Schaub. He didn't do open mics or bomb in local comedy stores. He hung around some comedians opened for bigger names and then did a tour. He never really found his voice for comedy nor learned how to control a crowd.

While those smaller crowds are frowned upon cause people think you aren't successful they are VERY important cause you learn to listen to the crowd, work with your opponent and hone your skillset. You go from the PC to TV tapings is like doing basic training and going RIGHT to war! You aren't ready and you get this feeling of being used as cannon fodder for something you have nothing to do with.

Well said. He's very lucky to have failed upward post-mediocre UFC career. Fortunate to have those connections into the biz via Bryan Callen. The direct ties to Joe Rogan and countless appearances on that show (which millions of people watch). Getting in with Fox initially with the TFATK podcast. The side deals with Showtime up until the end of 2021. Branching off now with his own studio network. Many of his "closest friends" or "my boy" / "our boy" are Callen's actual initial friends. People like Rogan, Rapaport, Sasso, D'Elia, Swardson, Schultz. Also ... realizing how popular Theo Von was with his own podcasting & guest appearances on TFATK ... he latched onto him to team up for the King and the Sting podcast. He's noted in passing he discovered, or helped discover, Von. Gimme a break. Von was on MTV's Road Rules show some 20 years ago. Had a Netflix special a number of years ago, as well as a recent one in 2021. Co-hosted a podcast with a TMZ staff member for a stretch years back, and paid his dues (Theo Von) on the comedy circuit. He didn't get the easy road into the biz. He put in time and built a following and guested on countless other big name shows. He got his name out there regularly.

Schaub's lucky to have had Rogan and Callen. Unfortunately with Rogan giving him "the talk" years back about seriously considering retirement ... and being encouraged to try his voice in comedy by Callen ... he got a serious inflated sense of self.

Hell ... check the TFATK subreddit. Nearly 51,000 members in there and it's people shitting on him constantly.
