I respect him for at least being honest and not beating around the bush that he wanted Max off but he's still a sucker for it.
It's basically in the beginning of the video, he didn't waste time getting to it.

Mike Golic is back on the air....
This is going to be good for Golic and Profootball talk.
I miss Mike being on the Air. Dude has been my morning sports talk guy for almost half my life.
I did not like the TONE whenever he spoke on ESPN and Greeny after the cancellation.

I side with Mike.
ESPN fumbled that whole thing horribly.
And the crazy thing?
I predicted it.

When Michael and Jemele were both still on ESPN and were being groomed they used to co host with Greeny
he LOVED IT
and so much so he did their His & Hers podcast
So on this episode he TOLD them that there close friendship would / could lead to their downfall
implying he deliberately kept his distance form Mike off air
which was CRAZY
and Jemele actually referenced LATER when the sh*t hit the fan with that Trump stuff.
point is I feel like Golic thought they were closer then they really were at least when it came to the BUSINESS.
Greeny ALWAYS wanted to be the next Bob Costas and felt he could NEVER be that with Mike & Mike
and I humbly submit...
he was WRONG.
He could have done the TV show and Mike and Mike if he REALLY wanted to.
Cause he does get up and his radio show and the gambling show.
Max is gonna do the morning show an afternoon show a boxing show and potentially podcast
Mike and Jemele STILL brother and sister and both doing well.

Props to Golic for getting back on TV and with NBC in particular. Maybe he'll start covering Notre Dame (his alma mater) football games too.

I'm not as harsh on SAS about this whole Max thing like y'all are.
He said in the interview that he was open with Max and ESPN about keeping the show fresh, he wasn't going behind Max's back.
First Take is basically his show, so he gets to call the shots as to what he feels is in the best interests of the show.
i truly hope he remains that transparent moving forward.
So I guess we will have more of Michael Irvin screaming about the Cowboys..

I think Chris Carter is the perfect person to be on there… he gives it that grown up vibe that the show needs.
