Watched a handful of episodes of Physical. They run 30 mins each, give or take a few minutes.

The narration is one of the highlights of the show, even though that's a gripe for many critics and reviewers thus far in additionally not liking the central character.

That's also (narration) a personal highlight for the series You. Another series wherein you aren't supposed to like the person in question.

Manifest started off good but they had to add swirling and faggot agenda after a couple of episodes. The shit is so obvious.

Checked out the Macho Man one yesterday. They're doing a good job with this Biography docuseries of wrestlers on A&E. Now I just need to get caught up on the Dark Side of the Ring docuseries in the months ahead ...

Checked out the Mick Foley one earlier this week, the Booker T one earlier today, and the first 20 mins of the Bret Hart one so far. Credit to A&E / WWE for packing in plenty of information. Having DVR'd them, they're 2 hours ... but without the ads they're in the 1 hour, 20 min range. So like watching a short movie.

Saw the Macho Man, Stone Cold, Sean Michaels & Ultimate Warrior ones in recent months.

Major Grom: Plague Doctor (Russian: Майор Гром: Чумной Доктор, romanized: Mayor Grom: Chumnoy Doktor) is a 2021 Russian action film directed by Oleg Trofim, based on the comic book series of the same name by the Russian publisher Bubble Comics, created by Artyom Gabrelyanov.[4] It is the second film adapted from Bubble Comics, as well as the first feature-length film based on a Russian comic.[5] Prior to that, the studio had released the short film Major Grom.[6] It stars Tikhon Zhiznevsky in the lead role, alongside Lyubov Aksyonova, Aleksei Maklakov, Aleksandr Seteykin, Sergei Goroshko, and Dmitry Chebotaryov. The film is set in Saint Petersburg and tells the story of police major Igor Grom, an honest and skilled cop with unconventional methods, who pursues a vigilante murderer in the mask of a plague doctor.

A teaser for the film was first screened on 30 September 2017 at the IgroMir / Comic-Con Russia 2017,[5] after which the project faced difficulties in production for some time—the team was disbanded and reassembled, and the concept of the film was redone from scratch. Three years later, a full-fledged trailer was presented at the Comic Con Russia 2020, with a tentative release date.[7][8] Major Grom: Plague Doctor had its premiere on 25 March 2021 in St. Petersburg. The online premiere took place on 5 May 2021 on KinoPoisk HD and Netflix.[9][10]

Major Grom: Plague Doctor was generally assessed by critics moderately positively: the general high quality of the work was noted, but at the same time, it was scolded for the clichéd and unoriginal plot. Some observers have claimed that the film aims a reproachful message towards the Russian opposition and praise for the police,[11][12] but not all reviewers agreed with this opinion;[13][14] the authors themselves have denied these allegations in several interviews.[15] The film failed at the box office, collecting only 328 million rubles in the CIS, with a budget of 640 million rubles,[16] but it proved popular on Netflix and Kinopoisk HD.[17][18]

Checked out episode 5 (season 2) of Black Summer yesterday and currently at the midway point of season 2 of Mr. Inbetween. @joneblaze - thank you for the recommendation. Really been enjoying it. They do a good job balancing out the family dynamic(s) with the brutality of his job. A good amount of character development for a show with a shorter running time in that 22 - 30 min range (without ads). For those who are thinking about checking it out ... you can get through the 1st season very quickly. It's only 6 episodes, so it's like watching a movie with a slightly longer running time. Second and third seasons run longer. Looking forward to starting the 3rd season by late-July or early-August. Then going to circle back to season 2 of Goliath. Ted Lasso season 2 drops next week. And Godfather of Harlem (season 2) resumes in early-August.

Series review

I just got through watching this series. And overall I thought this was a good show. The strongest seasons in my opinion is 1-3. That's because the creator and original writers were involved with the show. After season three, the creator Dan Harmon was fired from the show for a few reasons sexually harassing a writer, being a tyrant on set and his beef with Chevy Chase, and vice verse. There was also Chevy Chase supposedly harrassing Donald Glover while filming. Chevy take was he was just acting out his in the role but, Donald and Dan Harmon thought otherwise. Chevy would leave the show after season 4 and Donald Glover left would leave half way through Season 5.

Season 4

The fourth season was alright. It kind of rehashed some things that were done in the first three seasons. And this is the first season where it really wasn't consistently funny. This also the first season where the show was shorten from 25 episodes to only 13 episodes. Overall it was good but not like the earlier seasons.

Season 5 and 6
Though the last two seasons were better than season 4. Because of Dan Harmon being brought back. It felt like they where repeating themselves at this point. There's still hilarious moments , but not as frequent as the first three seasons. Season 5 would see the departure of Chevy chase, Donald glover, Yvette nicole brown. Chevy pretty much said fuck it and left because of not liking the work schedule and writing of the show. Donald glover left to pursue music and other projects such as ATL The Lazarus effect. Unfortunately Yvette Nicole Brown left to care for her ailing father at the time.

Season 6 Aired on Yahoo Screen (Yahoos video on demand online service). After being cancelled from NBC. To me the best part of season 6 was Keith David being added to the cast. The story involving him and his interaction with the group was hilarious.

Overall
Even though this show wasn't consistently funny to me. I plan on giving it another try. I don't think, I didn't like some of the episodes because of binging the show in a couple of weeks. It was that, you can tell where the quality drops hard. But even with that said I would recommend the show.

Watched the first 2 episodes of this series yesterday & also listened to the 1st episode of the popular podcast of the same name (had been meaning to do that previously). Enjoying it thus far. Joshua Jackson is good in the lead role (smug, sociopathic), Hubert Point-Du Jour as "Josh" is also very effective as the circulating nurse. Good to see Christian Slater in a supporting role as well. Fan of his work back in the 90s, but I haven't really checked out his projects the past 20 years. Going to keep watching & then listen to the rest of the podcast episodes afterward. The full season (8 eps) are now available.

Dr. Death is an American crime drama miniseries created by Patrick Macmanus based on the podcast of the same name that was released on Peacock on July 15, 2021.[1] The series consists of eight episodes.

Christopher Daniel Duntsch (born April 3, 1971)[1] is a former neurosurgeon who has been nicknamed Dr. D. and Dr. Death[2] for gross malpractice resulting in the maiming of several patients and killing two of them while working at hospitals in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.[3]
Duntsch was accused of injuring 33 out of 38 patients in less than two years before his license was revoked by the Texas Medical Board.[4] In 2017, he was convicted of maiming one of his patients and sentenced to life imprisonment.[5]

Currently watching her as the lead on the HBO Max 30 min comedy, Hacks. Pretty good thus far. Interesting contrasting that to her role on Mare. I
like her cadence / delivery of lines. We’ve seen 4 eps of Hacks in recent weeks

How are you liking Mare?

Hacks is good

Really interesting

But so far 3 episodes in...

They REALLY over hyped this.

Sidebar..

4th episode who in the hell is that thick ass snowflake in the all white dress escorting them to the private plane?

The series follows the lives of two neighbors, Rachel and Lily, as they embark on unprecedented times when a deadly new strain of a virus arrives. Navigating the new normal in New York City, Rachel works from home juggling her many telemedicine clients and a shaky marriage to her husband Dr. Zach, who has a prestigious job at the CDC miles away. Meanwhile, Lily is upstairs trying to convince her Wall Street clientele that her very specific skillset is still just as valuable through a video screen as it was in person.

Regarding Hacks - if you stick with it - keep an eye out for how they round out the characters. Found they did a pretty good job fleshing out the characters and giving them backstory. More about the relationship between mother and daughter. A very serious incident in Las Vegas for Ava. Marcus thinking twice about being fully invested in his professional work life. They've been renewed for a 2nd season. Should be good.

As for Mr. Inbetween - definitely give it a watch. Added a few links in my previous reply (and in the next reply). It's an easy series to get through with the shorter running times. You can check out 3 episodes in just over an hour (without ads). 1st season was 6 eps, 2nd season was 11, and recently-finished 3rd season was 9 eps.

We're at the midway point of season 2 now. Checked out 3 eps earlier this week.
