TV SHOWS / SERIES - Seen any good ones lately? Please feel free to post reviews / feedback / trailers / articles / TV news / all that shit ...

Typical Southie MA guy who loves Bill Belicheck.
Has a wife out of his league, don't understand how they got married, and now she is having a midlife crisis.

Isn't that what the show is though? A parody of those type of sitcoms? Not really a parody but I thought it was making fun of them like that Kevin James show that was cancelled.

David Makes Man season 2 started ...

I'm glad its back and this is premature but I think this show went this route too early. They had a lot more they could do with them as kids.....thus far they just aren't as interesting as they were when they were kids.

I need to check out both. Great cast on Billions - it's one of my aunt's fave shows. She's recommended it for quite some time.
Man its one of those shows..I don't know what took me so long...I Got the Showtime APP free with Spotify....better now than never...Only thing I regret is that I done sat here the past 4 days watching about 2 or 3 episodes a day lol. Paul GIamttie and Damian Lewis...you know its gonna be cold.

Do you think it would have helped if it were a longer season, or there were follow-up seasons?
Follow up series for sure. But I'm assuming maybe the issue is the story wasn't worth that much?

I just felt like there was some stuff missing that probably would be explained in a Documentary but for entertainment purposes.....probably wouldn't get addressed.

I hear you on that. Didn't have HBO or Showtime for years, but now have Crave on Demand (in Canada). It has back catalogues for many of the best series. Which there were more hours in the day. Really need to sit down and hammer out a bunch of shows later in the year.

Shoutout to Damian Lewis. He lost his wife to cancer in recent months. Great talent in her own right - she was Polly Gray (Aunt Pol) on Peaky Blinders ...

I'm glad it got the Netflix exposure. Initially it was just through BBC, if I remember correctly.

Good to get more international shine for quality shows.

True ... it's tricky with a limited series of 8 episodes. I felt it was just about the right duration. It would have been too short at 5 - 6 eps. But too long at 12 eps. I wouldn't have minded 12 eps though.

Just finished Season 4 of Gomorrrah which is excellent
season 7 of Bosch was off da chain
2nd half of Lupin of course
2nd half of Who Killed Sara was intense with some nice plot twists
Family Man on A-Prime. It's an Indian action show and the 2 seasons are fire

6.5/10

The trailer for this popped up on my YouTube recommendations a couple months ago. I had saved it and started watching it around Memorial Day weekend and finished up last night.

The premise of this series has been done a number of times since the 1950s. In this they kind of put a new spin on it. It is a psychological, crime thriller.

The series is a slow burn but it is a series where you need to pay attention to everything that is said and done if you want to figure it out before the last episode. If you suffer from TV ADHD, don’t bother investing the time to watch it.

The series follows the theme of the classic Sci-Fi Horror flick “The Thing”, but it is not a monster or paranormal flick.

My only fault is thru-out the series, some of the characters will speak in their native tongue and sub-titles are used. The problem is the idiot who did subtitles placed them on the screen where you can hardly see/read them. I had to turn subtitles on to find out what they were saying in a number of scenes.

The actor who plays the Professor in “Money Heist” and the actor who played Elchorst in “The Strain” co-stars.

This is a limited series. There are only 6 episodes that run about 45 minutes each. The series is on HBO MAX.

Synopsis

In the middle of the winter, a small group of scientists are in charge of an international base in the Antarctica. During the long polar nights stops communicating with the outside world.

Thanks for the review. I was listening to an early review (from The Watch podcast) months back & they were noting an interesting piece of info re: filming -

The series was shot in a set in Tenerife, in the Canary Islands, whereas outdoor scenes were shot in Iceland.[2][3]

finished series 7 of BOSCH
It's really bloody entertaining. It's a high-quality slow burn. I love a mature series like this that you can just sink your teeth into. The show basically treats the audience like they've been paying attention. Which is nice. It's probably the closest we will ever get to a realistic cop tv show MINUS the wire of course

Start Up

I love when a show goes completely off the path I thought it was going to go down
The cast is excellent and the story is very involving.

Just binged this 1st season and about 4 episodes into the 2nd......never heard of this being on Crackle....but glad Netflix picked it up. Adam Brody is damn near the same character in everything, but that mfkr Ronald........aye that first episode Big Ronnie had a smooth as appearance ....then Oskar...but yeah I gotta get back to this

@playahaitian Ronald's storyline is the best of the series.

Yeah I just started binging this....yeah Brody typecast like a muthafucka ll the way back to the OC. I'm liking Startup...hate I'm just hearing about it and it only has 3 seasons.

Bosch season 7 deserves all the praise it has been getting
Makes me want to watch the entire thing again from season one.

only problem I have with the season is that it felt too damn short

Physical is about a struggling housewife living in a ’80s California beach community who finds an unconventional path to power through an unlikely source – the world of aerobics.

The series follows the lives of two neighbors, Rachel and Lily, as they embark on unprecedented times when a deadly new strain of a virus arrives. Navigating the new normal in New York City, Rachel works from home juggling her many telemedicine clients and a shaky marriage to her husband Dr. Zach, who has a prestigious job at the CDC miles away. Meanwhile, Lily is upstairs trying to convince her Wall Street clientele that her very specific skillset is still just as valuable through a video screen as it was in person.
