The official ** KEVIN SAMUELS ** discussion thread

See it's okay to debate because the end goal is to come to what is best practices.

I am with you on how the individual human mind works and because of this we are all over the place. Whatever someone like or prefers I am nobody to get in their way. I agree just because people are not their best self does not make them a bad person. Lawd knows we all need help and we should not shame and insult but we should not hold back tough love and constructive criticism either.

Also with you making your own admission, just like you I struggle in some areas myself in life and I am trying to do better. I am in better condition then some as far as living. As I got older I am realizing now how what decisions I made, not taking sage advice, and being hard headed impacts me right now. I made excuses like most americans do. So I appreciate your testimony.
It's all good, family.

We're in basic agreement but coming from somewhat different perspectives. Of course it's because we're different people. Both of us have something relevant to add to the conversation. I feel like to positively impact a broad cross-section of people, we gotta understand the language of those who we seek to help. Tough love is right for some but not what is needed for all situations. No? If people have been dumped on by folks their whole life, but no one has been kind, sometimes a more openly caring approach works better. If someone has been spoiled all their life, then tough love might be more appropriate. And there's all sort of grey areas in between.

Since this is a KS thread, I'll link him back into this. As much as I've seen him verbally rough up women. I've also seen him at times have the insight to realize he was dealing with a broken woman and to advise her to seek and even offer to help link her with mental health counseling. I respected that.

I like the term "constructive criticism" because to truly give it, one cannot be lazy. To construct is to build. The criticism is the tearing down. The construction is giving one the blueprints and the building materials to make things better. It is to leave them with hope.

I too recognize areas in my life and past where I messed up by not taking good advice and by being hard-headed. So I relate to and appreciate your own testimony. As long as we are able to learn from our past, no experience was a waste..

As an individual and how individuals operate no big deal.

It just looked at it a sort of way when I asked about our community as a whole and your comments came across as dodgy.
Not to disrespect what you felt to be a very relevant question, but I felt like I clearly understood where you overall were coming from and had clarified my own position multiple times. Felt to me like you were trying too hard to drive in a point that I had already gotten.

What I try to avoid doing is repeating myself over and over with the goal being to convert another to my religion, so to speak. But at the same time, I don't like it if someone seems to be doing that to me, rather than accepting where I'm at, even if we have to agree to disagree.

You asked for proof of enabling and coddling and I mention The Body Positive Movement and you could not accept it.

Lizzo made an attempt to do better and the Body Positive Movement shamed her.

Oh well I better not see you in any threads concerning the high rate of diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease in our community particular black females.

The reason why you can't identify enabling and coddling is because you are guilty of it.

Body Positive Movement should be for the disabled and people who actually have some deformity not a lard ass who is too lazy to workout.
