30 minutes in.

I'll allow it. Kobe was a better defender? That might be the only measurable category you could give to him over Durant. Now niggaz go run in with the kobe had that "killer instinct" "mamba mentality" blah blah blah ain't no stats 4 that. If you try to say Kobe was a better shooter you're smoking crack. I'd probably give the edge in handles to Durant too.

I’ll only push back on the “handles”. Still... :smh:

You do know they compare jordan and lebron? Both are wing players so you can absolutely compare them

I don't care what they are, you can't compare players just because someone thinks they're a 3 or a 4, it's ridiculous. Anyone who knows basketball knows that. You compare players by skillset and part of that skillset is height, whether you like it or not a 6'5" player is much more agile than a 6' 10" player, it's simple physics.

Lebron and Jordan are compared because they are similar in height and both have/had otherworldy talent but while Jordan was thinner and more nimble, Lebron is bigger and stronger and remarkably lithe for his size.

Lol just say you don't want to make the comparison. And by your argument Kobe being smaller and more agile should make him the better player. But it doesn't

Sorry Bruh but MJ, Kobe and KD’s job is to score points. They’re the scorers on the team, they’re definitely comparable.

Indeed. You gotta defend kobe by bringing in bird?

Stats my friend stats, this isn’t about Bird. It’s about his career numbers.

I’m a Lakers fan so I don’t care for Bird. But he was a league and Finals MVP 3 times and lead his team to championships.

KD hasn’t done what Bird’s done, yet KD’s better than Kobe?

I’m not asking anyone to think outside the box, I want you to think in it and look at the stats. Especially if that’s what it’s all about :dunno:

KD hasn’t lead any team to a championship, but now he’s better than Kobe?

This ain't tennis or golf where 1 player determines the outcome.
I'll keep it as basic as it can get. Cause I see folks are trying to get away from that in the conversation.

What is/was Kobe better at on the basketball court than Durant? That is all this is this discussion is about

Comparable as scorers? Maybe. If that's your yardstick fine but it's not the sole factor in "best player." It's not even the greatest factor.

Lead a team to championships. Be the true leader of the team and navigating that team to success.

They’re scorers, they’re the scorers for their teams.

Nothing I said had anything to do with them being the best player or the greatest.

Again, if we only want to go by the numbers then KD’s definitely looks better on paper.

But so does

Not #s. What skillset is kobe better at than Durant?

And you should probably stop trying to debate somebody when you have to bring a mufucka who ain't even in the discussion to try and bolster your argument

So we shouldn’t compare Magic to other PG because he was 6’10 or Barkley to other PF because he was 6’4?

Yeah the thing with KD you can't stop him....I think you could atleast slow down Kobe, but there is no one that can remote stop a 7'0 pure shooter....

Kobe was a beast though....This is tough

Uhhh he had 2 finals mvp... when he got injured his team lost in the finals for the possible 3 peat... rookie of the yr... won multiple scoring titles.. led 2 diff teams to the finals (okc, gsw)in which he was the top scorer on both teams
