Bomani Jones said KD is better than Kobe. :-0

Don't forget Pau was a baller back then

Pau wit one good seaso
Also Kobe never won a ring without Derek fisher

Yeah I’m using that dumb pippen terminology

Derek Fisher? He wasn’t a second option superstar
Bynum was the best true center in the league that season and Pau was actually MVP of that finals series. :ssshhh:

So you saying that 2009 laker team was better than the 2016 OKC team? Talk to me old nigga

The self proclaimed best player on earth was guarding him that series.. so if he still needs to be double when the greatest player on earth is guarding him what does that say?.. I posted the highlights you’ll see for yourself many of his shots contested he just that nice that his difficult shots still went in... you can tell by people responses when they have formulated opinions even to go against logic and proof.. when players need to be double teamed what does that say about that’s persons ability?.. nobody double teaming Kurt rambis

Lebron isn’t a clamp down defender and no highly skilled scorer can be stopped one on one. You know that though right?

And no one said Lebron was the greatest defender so I’m unsure of your argument.

Once KD signed to the 72 win championship Warriors, everyone knew they were winning the title. Every other team was basically a G League team to them so of course KD’s numbers were great. They would’ve 3-peated had KD not gotten injured.

I don’t have a formulated opinion, I’m telling your the facts of what was on the court and the reasons his numbers and performance were what they were. But you’re not accepting my facts but you’d like me to accept yours?

Also KD’s a great player, I never said he wasn’t.

i mean the guy who led the team could’ve won the finals mvp since he won 2 reg season mvps.. but why didn’t he? He wasn’t double teamed either.. you started this discrediting kd final mvps and him not leading

With KD he sat back and let the scorer score, and since he had better numbers. :dunno:

Yes. And they played lesser competition.

3rd best player on that Laker roster was all nba and all star Pau Gasol in his prime or top 3 center in league at time in Andrew Bynum. 3rd best on that OKC roster was Serge Ibaka.

KD is better than Kobe. So was Tim Duncan. If D. Wade had stayed healthy he would of been better than Kobe as well.

Kobe stans need to get a grip.
I’ll say D Wade had a shot but the health did derail that. But Kobe was just too dynamic and a game changer at any moment anyWHERE on the court. That edges him over KD and the stats argument.

You can’t forget the obvious coaching comparison... Phil Jackson >>>>>>> okc entire coaching history since they moved there

I remember Golden state putting the clamps on KD who subsequently blew a 3-1 in the WCF
KD remembers it too that's why he ran and played with them like a little bitch cause he didn't wanna relieve that nightmare. Kobe wouldn't have done that punk pussy smooth shit.

Durant is better and it isn’t even close.

stans have made this thread 3 pages in less than an hour. Unbelievable :eek2:

I'm waiting for supposed Dubs fans to chime in. These niggas got like 5 favorite players they shuffle thru, yet this is the first time EVER KD been compared directly to someone not named LeBron.

Overall impact in a game, it’s Jordan over Lebron and Kobe over KD.
Negative impact? Because both were barely leading a playoff team without a hall of fame coach to lead them to the title.

what is Mike Brown doing? Scott Brooks?

They're close Shaq has better numbers. A healthy Duncan and a healthy Shaq both have the ability to change the outcome of a series if they're there.

Early Shaq, yes. Later on Shaq serves little purpose outside the paint on either end of the court. Shaqs numbers are due to dunks and layups, with the rare free throw. He was dominant as fuck but Duncan made so many other things happen in a game that Shaq couldn’t.

So statistically Jordan and Kobe are worse players. I agree.
“Worse” is too strong. Numbers absolutely matter until you get to outcome. You could do the same with QB’s where on has an insane number of turnovers but has what Brady had and still wins and has passing yards versus a Vick, Rodgers or even Manning. Stats are like the scorecard in a boxing match; you could be ahead on all scorecards and be in with a heavy hitter and count sheep. Tyson is the prime example; if his fights went 6 rounds he’d have the most wins and KO’s while have the record for rounds lost.

Kobe and Jordan's stats used to get posted and mattered at one time. Now that they have been surpassed, you can only hold them up based off subjective things that cant be measured. Over time that isnt gonna last. Stats and production say alot about player. Kobe and Jordan are arguably the 2 biggest icons in NBA history as far as "celebrity", but there are several players who are better basketball players than both. Equating their celebrity and marketability into them being the best basketball players between the lines is a mistake.

Kobe went from "the closest thing to Jordan" to being seen as lesser than Durant who is seen as lesser than Steph Curry on BGOL. So now both KD and Curry are better than him. His death made folks jump off his wagon I guess.

Will @largebillsonlyplease make an appearance in this thread? 2 of his all time favorite players being compared directly? And no way to tie in LeBron hate? I say he dont show.
That last exchange burned what was left of your soul up lol.

Lmao

Who's my all time favorite players?
Any sane person can easily say I don't hate on Mr. James there's no reason to from my point of view lol

He's a once in a generation player who has exceeded the hype and won multiple championships!

Kd and kobe placement got shit to do with me

Bomani is a great journalist who also has wild biases that don't get revealed because he's says shit in a calm way lol

I showed you lost your money pay up to whoever you owe it to.

Also I don't run in these threads

I have a lot to accomplish but nothing to prove.
