Biden has so far deported more Haitians in a few weeks than the Trump did in a whole year

with the use of a highly controversial Trump-era public health order denying asylum seekers basic legal rights, according to a new report.

The report, The Invisible Wall, due to be published on Thursday by a coalition of immigrant rights groups, focuses on Title 42, part of the 1944 Public Health Service Act invoked a year ago by the Trump administration as grounds for summary expulsion of migrants because of the supposed health risk they posed during the Covid pandemic.

The Biden team has sought to place a moratorium on deportations of immigrants already in the country (though that moratorium has been blocked by a court order), but it has not stopped Title 42 expulsions of newly arrived migrants. The report found the pace of deportation flights to Haiti in particular had increased dramatically.

“More Haitians have been removed to Haiti in the weeks since President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris took office than during all of fiscal year 2020,” according to the Invisible Wall report, published by the Haitian Bridge Alliance, the Quixote Center, and the UndocuBlack Network.

In part at least, the rise in expulsions mirrors an increase in arrivals of Haitians at the border, misled by rumours and deliberate disinformation from people smugglers, that the Biden administration had relaxed the regime at the border. Most of the new arrivals have been waiting in Mexico for months hoping for a change in the rules affecting Haitians. Some of the deportees may also have been held in detention centres in the US.

That's your best reply to protect your white savoir, Jim Crow Joe?
I just asked a question... there are arguments that increased immigration is bad for the black community....also black immigrants tend to either look down on or treat black americans with some level of disdain. That being the case then how is increased deportation of immigrants a cause for concern for black americans regardless of who is president? Hell, they called Obama the deporter in chief and it was one of the things conservatives DIDN'T complain about him.

its a legit question...no need for insults or defensiveness...

That's a crazy generalization. You don't care for an entire group of black people because?
My feeling on immigration is really indifferent...on the one hand, I understand why people are trying to get into the country on the other hand, if the result of that is going to be not only increased competition for black americans BUT ALSO those same immigrants being used as model minority figures to be contrasted against the lazy criminal minded black americans who are always complaining...a ploy many immigrants even black ones don't mind playing into as long as cacs stay off their asses. Well if more being deported back to their own country then I don't necessarily have a problem with that.

You said you don't like Haitians. I didn't ask for your opinion on immigration

The increased competition is just an excuse from businesses who want cheaper labor to exploit. How you blame the people and not the policy seems to be habitual for you

capitalism is going to function the way it functions..thats not a political thing.. people play into it regardless. If you want to make a law that says you must hire americans first or something like that you still have to deal with immigrants coming over.

As a black man as I thought you were the concerns of black people internationally should be your concern smh. Do you tho
again not all black people internationally look at black americans like allies...also if you want to talk policy there is a point to be made that POC and minority are too broad a terms when it comes to issue concerning black americans. People here complain that issues that are pinpoint to black americans are too often wrapped up in the language of minorities and people of color while other groups get policies specific to them (the recent asian/covid hate crime proposal for instance). Should immigration issues be a concern for black americans and why?

You think Haitian migrants are an exception? Why is the US Haitian embassy twitter account posting it in Creole?
you could post that message across the board if thats the case. looking at that tweet, plus the thread title, would give the impression that there is an immigration policy that specifically targets haitians only...it doesn't.

The reason I point at Biden keeping black immigrants out is because it shows his anti blackness that black people were complaining about Trump for. They are the same.

There was a time I didn’t have a problem with black immigrants but now after certain experiences with them it woke me up.

How can black immigrants or the kids born in America to black immigrants utter anything negative about black Americans. You need to shut the fuck up and say thank you to black Americans for opening the door. You were a failure in that shit hole you came from.

I’ve heard far too many black immigrants pass their arrogant judgement on black Americans but look at the shit hole they come from. They need to shut the fuck up while getting black American benefits.

This bitch don't have nothing to say? Isn't she in the administration? If she don't have nothing to say than I don't have nothing to say. For the record I'm from Louisiana lifelong resident. I can trace my family back 300 or 400 years in Louisiana all Black and none of them from Haiti. I know a lot of Black people in Louisiana and I don't remember any of them stating they have ancestors from Haiti despite what Joy Reid and Tariq Nasheed says.

So Africans voluntarily populated the Caribbean?

Good point but those africans in haiti thru the revolution took their freedom back and while they have been dealing with the fucked-upness coming from france and america...groups do things that work for their best interests personally period....if that coincides with another groups that's fine but not necessary. I'm not exactly sure if haitians see black americans as allies or have any kinship to black americans because of the same origin circumstance.

Yes, Biden is a racist, but this isn't proof. The reason why Haitians and so many other immigrants are having trouble with the US border is because the process itself is horribly mismanaged.

when our system isn't equipped to handle the immigrants that we already have here how do you handling influx on top of it all?

The problem is that this country has addressed immigration issues with walls and enforcement when we really need more pencil pushers and certainty in the law.

Another generalization... You can't speak for all Haitians on how they feel. Their struggle with oppression with the US backed puppet president is no different from our own. It makes sense tho..you think we are good here so why would you sympathize with other black people smh. You're too old to be pulling the "they don't care bout me so I don't care bout them" bullshit especially when you don't really know what you're talking about. You don't care about black people just say that

I never said "we were good here"...

Then their issues would be best resolved by dealing with it in their own country don't you think? This isn't just haitians this is all immigrants. Hispanics are running out of mexico and other south american countries when they really just need to do what needs to be done to clean up they own countries. Exposing how america and other other superpowers in europe and china are fucking up those countries would help. But beyond sharing the same skin color how does a big influx of black immigrants help black americans?

More slaves went to the Caribbean and South America than the US. My only issue with this shit is that people from all over the diaspora love to come here and proudly differentiate themselves from Black Americans and then catch feelings when called out on it. It can't be you're not Black like me unless you need assistance.

So your country fucks up these other countries, people flee because of it and you want these same people to handle their own problems? I think solidarity with other oppressed people period is important? It's clear you don't
