I’m sorry but halfway through this shit is garbage.
After seeing this, I am more curious about what Ryan Coogler and Michael B had in mind.
I'm giving it a 5 out of 10
They tried cramming too much story into a very small window.
Coming 2 America the musical. Shit was garbage, Dre from Power should have been the Prince. And who the fuck is Jermaine Fowler
They blew it, this should've happened years ago. Far too many years have passed to even think about a successful sequel.

I liked the beginning, all the cameos, all the callbacks to the first film. This started off funny but got corny about a half hour into it.
They tried too hard to capture the same type of magic from the original, but the jokes just fell flat. Movie eventually became cringe worthy and predictable.
I'd give it a 3/10.

....this is what I was scared of...now I am scared to watch the shit...this movie needed no sequel and if you wanted to do it for the money it should have came out decades ago....I will watch man but I am going in with low expectations...I just hate that these reviews are attached to a movie with the name Coming To America, a comedy classic

how are the special effects? (background, decor, palace, etc...) I'm hearing they are trash... I'm scared they ruin a classic... I already don't like the story line... I'm waiting Sunday to see it with my peeps... we have a brunch planned around it, let's hope we won't be disappointed
It was cool to see all the old people, but this shit just wasn't funny. It played out like a long ass BET Awards skit.

People were shitting on this movie before it was ever released. I didn't think it was nearly as bad as the reviews would make it seem. It isn't the 1st Coming to America, but it is far from bad in my opinion. I was glad to see that they brought back a lot of the original cast, even some very minor characters. It's good to see how everyone has aged. The only cameo that I didn't think was necessary was En Vogue & Salt 'n Pepa, but it wasn't too distracting. I feel like they could have did a little better job of honoring the original Queen (pictures, statues) something more than the conversation in McDowell's. Otherwise, it wasn't as bad as people make it out to be in my opinion.
My last thought is I see how people are claiming that this movie somehow ruined he 1st movie, which I don't understand. The 1st movie is it's own thing. That's like saying Godfather 3 ruined the 1st 2. Godfather 3 was shit, but that doesn't change the fact that the 1st Godfather is one of the greatest movies ever.

I think the problem is the camera looked too after school special like. It also was playing too much random background music . The camera work really bothered me. It didn’t feel like a movie camera it had a goofy look to it.

That's the problem....you are HEARING. Go watch it. Shit was crispy as fuck in 4k on Prime. And the special effects weren't bad at all for a comedy. The palace, African background, and costume design were actually dope. Sounds like people complaining just to be complaining because it wasn't the first one. Only thing that annoyed me was all the damn singing. Its a modern day continuation of the first one
