NFL News: Detroit Lions dealing Matthew Stafford to Los Angeles Rams for Jared Goff

Fuck way overrated Matt Stafford and his Trumptard wife who complained about imposed COVID-19 restrictions in Michigan and called the state a "dictatorship" on social media. The Lions definitely got the best of this trade. :hmm:

I bet some of these racist NFL owners stop paying these sorry ass CAC quarterbacks so much money now. I wish Trevor Lawrence well because he seem like a good guy but they are really over-hyping him because I think he is not going to hit the ground running in the NFL.

Detroit got the better deal......my bears couldn't pull off a deal..
Not really Geoff is horrible. Remember the Rams had an awesome defense and Geoff couldn't capitalize on it. This was long before he hurt his hand. That dude ain't much better than Mitch.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao2::roflmao2::roflmao2::roflmao3::roflmao3::roflmao3: Ol hot garbage ass white boys can do any fucking thing in the NFL. Bruh, this shit is robbery! #ColtMcCoy
Colt McCoy was/is far better than the alligator proportioned one of South Lake Texas/U Missouri, Chase Daniels, who may still be eating money somewhere in the NFL right now.

Golladay got hurt last year but he had some weapons. Marvin Jones, Amendola, Hockenson....Swift looked good at running back....Stafford issues might be his own issues.

Matt was actually ok this season. Amendola old af and gonna retire. Golladay pretty much didn't play. The offense wasn't really the problem even with the injuries. The defense was one of the worst of all time. I hope these bitches finally start drafting pass rushers.

Despite playing 12 years:

He has only had a defense ranked in the top-15, 3 times.

He has only had a top-20 ranked rushing attack (17th), once.

He’s only had 11 career games with a RB that had 100+ yards rushing. In those games, he’s 9-2.

The last time he had a 1k yard rusher on his team? 2013.

As much as I've shitted on Stafford, the lions have had like 1 thousand-yard rusher and often a bottom 5 defense since he's been there. No QB is gonna really win with that. He's overrated by Lions' fans and underrated by the rest of the league. It's hard to win when you're teams are always trash.

Let us NOT FORGET

After the Matthew Stafford trade, the Rams' lack of first-round picks is mind-boggling

The Los Angeles Rams can’t seem to hold onto their first-round picks. L.A. agreed to terms with the Detroit Lions to send quarterback Jared Goff, two first round picks (2022, 2023) and a 2021 third-round pick in exchange for quarterback Matthew Stafford, per reports.

General manager Les Snead is practically allergic to his most valuable draft asset. The Rams have not made a first-round pick since picking quarterback Jared Goff in the first-round in 2016.

The Rams’ last first-round pick came in the year President Donald Trump was elected, and L.A. isn’t slated to pick in the first round until President Joe Biden’s first term is ending. There are ways for the Rams to get back into the first round, but for now, they are not slated to pick in the first round until 2024. (2024!?!?!) It seems like a cornerstone strategy for the organization. The Rams must feel the rest of the NFL overvalues first-round picks, and L.A. is OK with getting veterans, even on huge contracts, in exchange.

So how did we get here? Well, here are the ways the Rams got rid of their first-round picks…

  • L.A. traded their 2017 first-round pick (which eventually became fifth overall) in order to move up the draft board to get Goff in 2016. The Tennessee Titans used that 2017 pick to take receiver Corey Davis.
  • The Rams traded the 2018 23rd overall pick to the New England Patriots in exchange for Brandin Cooks and a fourth-round pick. New England used that pick to select left tackle Isaiah Wynn.
  • L.A. traded out of the first round to acquire second- and third-round picks from the Atlanta Falcons. With the first-rounder, the Falcons picked tackle Kaleb McGary.
  • L.A. sent their 2020 and 2021 first-round picks and a 2021 fourth-rounder to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for cornerback Jalen Ramsey. In 2020, the Jags picked LSU defensive end K’Lavon Chaisson with the Rams’ pick at 20th overall.
It’s an interesting reminder of why, perhaps, the Rams value veterans so much. This list of draft selections isn’t exactly damning for L.A.. The players who have gone in the Rams’ slots are … fine.

The only problem is that L.A.’s top-heavy salary cap situation (with huge deals for Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey and, previously, Goff) was constructed with the assumption that the NFL would continue to increase cap space, but due to the pandemic, it’s likely the salary cap will actually go down (due to decreased revenue during the 2020 season). The Rams’ spending for 2021 is $35.5 million over the cap. That’s the literal price tag that comes with aggressively acquiring talented veterans in exchange for cheaper and riskier young players.

LOL but seriously Atlanta is not going back to the Super Bowl with that cat as quarterback
I'm thinking we are going to draft a QB. Either Justin Fields or Zach Wilson out of BYU.
Mattie Ice will then be on his way to San Francisco.
We have to get a new QB, I along with a lot of Atlanta fans have no faith in Matt Ryan.

Man watching Andy Dalton this season.....I realize there ain’t no such thing is a supporting cast holding a guy back. He is what he is. People get caught up in his arm talent but it takes more than that and I just don’t see it with him. All them cacs like Matthew Stafford, Matt Ryan, Carson Wentz, Jared Goff””....I just don’t see it.

Colts are fucked now. We were banking on Stafford
Give you Goff for a 1st and a 4th. Maybe 2 2nds.
The Rams problem was strictly Geoff. Everything else was fine. Now in a couple of years we will see if 7 years of no first round pics will bite them in the ass.

LOL! Big dirty secret about Stat Padford is that he cant operate behind the center. He's just as bad as Matt reading a D. By constantly being a shotgun, the Lions coddled Matt at the expense of the run game.

You need big receivers to play with Matt and catch his high throws. He's not the most accurate short passer but can throw thru tight windows downfield btw the 20s.

If your defense can carry him then you can win games but Matt hasn't been a workhorse QB since Calvin left. If the Lions can flip Goff for more picks, then I say do it. A franchise QB on a rookie contract would be ideal.

Matt Ryan is a clown just like Stafford. Prior to Covid, these dudes were working out in the off-season together with their wives. I never took Stafford or Ryan serious after that.

They got their money and status so winning is secondary at this point. Matts wife Kelly Stafford always came across as wanting to be a reality show star. Rams fans are getting more baggage than they think.

Three of those dudes eode the wave to the SB and rhe assumpt is the Stafford is more talented than the rest. Another Lion fan called him the 2021 Jeff George. LA wont be as kind as Detroit. Matt is going to see what real pressure is like. On Detroit, it was rare when he was expected to win. 9-60 vs teams with winning records.

Just to be clear, I ain't no Stafford fan either. I just seen what Goeff can/can't do in the Rams current system. If the only choices were another year with Goeff or trying something different, I was like let's see what Stafford can do. I'm still pissed the Rams gave that bum such a big contract in the first place

Matt Stafford is the new Jay Culter. Same stuff they said about Cutler they saying about Stafford. All that “great arm” shit means nothing. Rams gonna find out quick too.

They gave up two first and a third for Matthew Stafford

He's not that much better than Goff

and how much do they think they can trade Goff for at this point?

Looking at the Rams tape tells me you are going to need lot more at WR to make Stafford look good. Unless you strike gold in the FA market it don't see how you improve any position right away with ZERO 1st round picks for Stafforda first three years.

Lions fans are aware Goff cant read a D and needed McVey to tell him where to throw the ball before the mic cutt off. But at least he can operate behind center, allowing the running back to operate 8 yards deep in the backfield and not 6. Shotgun is cool to run off of when the QB is a threat to run. Matt doesn't offer that.

The RBs always get the blame but its really Matt need to play in the Shotgun that kills the run game. Lion's fans always have someone to blame for his failures, but after three coaches and two GMs the Lions finally saw they can't win with him.

If Stafford gets hurt either year the Rams gave away picks or falls flat on his face then this could be s Hershal Walker type deal. The Rams picks that they gave up to get Goff eneded up making the Titans the team they wish they were. The Lions just need to "Tanerhill" Goff and trade him to a team like Washington.
