I remember being asking about Gamestop last year. Without knowing much about their business my train of thought was that gaming is moving more into digital format especially with younger gamers. This means there is no need to go buy a disk from a store. At best they still sell hardware, but how often is hardware being sold at a high volume and you can get hardware from various outlets. The best thing Gamestop had going for it was the ability to trade games but at the same time people have complained about the rebuy offers.
