Keri Hilson getting killed for Trump tweet: Is she right though ???

Keri has a point tho. Would black agenda every risk censorship? It is something to think about

No point, freedom of speech will give those in power to openly disrespect people that don't. America is a good example so I disagree, you need some form of censorship especially if you in-equality.

Wrong.

Trump can say what he wants he just can’t say it on Twitter. That’s a private platform.

The problem with freedom of speech is no one wants to consider the consequences of the things they say. You’re free to say what you want but you can’t control how people will respond or feel about what you are saying.

Some people might not fuck with you because of things you say some might. There may not be any consequences or there may be some.

The accounts were deleted, blocked or removed because they violated the rules of PRIVATE companies. We are not simply talking about agendas and opinions, but speech that is calculated to incite others to violence and/or breach of the peace....that is not protected speech and never has been.
And further..

Cats are choosing to ignore trumps years of breaking twitter rules, and twitter giving him a pass. They are also forgetting trump can actually do his job and have regular press jawns which will be covered nationwide and worldwide. None of the Black people she's supposedly worried about losing free speech have that power, trump does but chooses to 'President by twitter' : a private enterprise!

Anybody that thinks she is right. Go yell BOMB or FIRE in a movie theater let us know how that works out. Freedom of Speech....:fuckyousay:
That's irony of it. Social media is not a movie theater. It's more like yell Bomb or Fire in an open desert. You don't like it you don't have to follow that person, at least that's the concept. Shit, I'm sure I've been put on ignore by plenty of folks on this board, that's the concept.

I don't do twitter and I damn sure ain't a Trump supporter, but this a warning to black content creators that you are building your platforms on sand. Don't be out here like Boosie begging Zuckerberg to turn your account back on.

I left social media alone 3 years ago and don’t regret it.

very wise move Professor.

I mess with FB when it first came out, but was done with it after a year.

Never got with the Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat thing.

Social Media is just not my groove.

Nothing to do with freedom of speech. You go to a site you have to respect the rules and guidelines. I dare you to post gay content in here and see how long you'll stay

Not a freedom of speech issue.

These are private companies/platforms that people PAY a fee to use. These companies reserve the right to refuse their services to whomever they choose. Especially if they believe their IP is being jeapordized... :dunno:

Aren't you an attorney?

Naw I don't want to hear that fuck shit. Y'all scream freedom of speech only when it effect y'all. Y'all pick and chose when to use freedom of speech. You say something offensive that bothers women or gays or any demographic they'll boot your ass. Nick Cannon didn't have no freedom of speech did he? Or Kapernick? Naw....don't play that shit now. He got banned oh the fuck well tell him to go to clubhouse and talk that shit.

By your analysis then no one could ever be responsible for inciting anyone else....because those people CHOSE to listen; but that is not the case. You keep referring to simple content, but it is not ordinary content we are talking about.

She’s trying to make a very narrow and limited point.
This ain’t the time for the bullshit nuances

I think we are going in the same direction but....Social media functions as the editors and the facilitators of speech. If someone says some foul shit about you on Facebook you can't sue Facebook for defamation, they will say they have no control over the content. You can sue the shit out of Gawker or the Washington Post, but Facebook, you can't touch them. But the minute you say something they don't like, now all of a sudden they have control of the content.

This is why you have antitrust laws. The first amendment argument is a red herring. These companies have too much power.

And they don't enforce these rules equally across the board. You think anyone would be banned for encouraging rioting this past summer?

None of the media personalities or politicians that excused the rioters were suspended.

She is interpreting the First Amendment wrong. Your First Amendment right doesn’t allow you to incite violence on the federal government. She needs to shut her pretty mouth up.

People too fucking stupid and emotional to get your point. They can never see 2 or 3 steps ahead. It's cool now because everyone here thinks they part of the cool table. Trumpers and the other fools ain't. What happens when the cool kids turn on you? :smh:

Folks building on these platforms better tread with caution. BGOL could face pressure for being a transphobic messageboard and that's that. I don't think cats realize how many of those cool kids would want this site banned. :smh:

Come on man. Burning down walgreens, CVS, and local businesses ain't shit. Those cacs were laughing at that shit. They ain't about to ban shit.

Cat can get shot out here by a rival, folks can clown all day long, these cacs ain't lifting one fucking finger to moderate shit. Folks banging online and catching bodies behind that shit and these hippies absent as fuck. It's crickets.

See when it hits home for them how active they get? See how pelosi went from 'people going to do what they do' to :eek::eek::eek:.

The point has been shown to us with the word “Cancel” or “Cancelled”. Kevin Hart says a gay joke a decade ago and things are taken from him.

Nick Cannon expresses his freedom of speech and things are taken from him. Many far right outlets are banned from Twitter and YouTube. Banning someone from social media is nothing new, it’s just big news because it’s the president whose words incited a riot.

No doubt, just saying as we get more and more into this shit they will do more. Next time they will take more from people like Kevin Hart/Nick Cannon. Folks been warned, but they don't take shit seriously until one day they try to log on to BGOL and it ain't here no more.

I feel you and agreed wholeheartedly.

She has a fundamental misunderstanding of what trump was doing and why he was perma-banned then, and she should educate herself before she jumps into the fray. Trump was not banned because people were tired of hearing him.

Basically she was saying would this same censorship be used on black agendas when white people get tired of hearing black people problems

all these conservatives and republicans claiming freedom of speech because Trump has been banned & Parlour is Dead
were they saying the samething for Kaep after he is was black listed by a private business...

no they werent
Real shit G.

No...we just understand that if you violate their terms of service, they have the right to ban you. Nothing emotional about that.

If nambla was on Twitter organizing tours of preschools for it's members and posting pics of the toddlers they wanted to groom....and then twitter bans them, would it be emotional and stupid to agree with the ban? Would anybody have a point if they said but...but...but...they could do the same thing to black causes?

Just a few years back, the FCC was like...nah, broadband is NOT a utility. ...now if Broadband is not a utility, a social media company riding on its pipes???? They're gonna have a hell of a fight making that argument stick if they are not ready to make those pipes a utility. ....and if/when they do, that will be one thing....but they aren't there yet, right?

Also, the people that fund parler have damn near unlimited resources, so this is a business opportunity for them to buy some hosting company out or create their own so they can Q to their heart's content.

There is an argument to be made that these companies operate more as public utilities rather than private companies. Much like the big telecoms back in the day. Either way, their influence is problematic.

"The complaint alleges that Facebook has enforced these policies by cutting off API access to blunt perceived competitive threats from rival personal social networking services, mobile messaging apps, and other apps with social functionalities. For example, in 2013, Twitter launched the app Vine, which allowed users to shoot and share short video segments. In response, according to the complaint, Facebook shut down the API that would have allowed Vine to access friends via Facebook."
