I'm of like mind but what if we're wrong? What if the majority really want more "socialism"? People love socialist programs, they just don't like the word socialism.
It seems to me that the conservatives dared to nominate the white nationalist candidate they always wanted in Trump and won. Most thought he had no chance and he won. I actually think people want socialist programs but can't bring themselves to admit it.
Maybe if people saw competent government that worked for them they would like it?
It's probably what should happen, but I'm feeling more and more like even if they do get these wins and Senate control, it won't happen.
Democrats have never fallen into rank and file like Republicans do on issues like this. Just look at how "diverse the GOP Senate is, or how a handful of them always mention how "concerned" or "distressed" they are about certain votes before turning around and voting exactly the way GOP leadership dictates.
A whole lot of people wasted time waiting for a few of them to show some sort of moral fortitude on matters, and what did we get? The most significant actions from any of them were McCain's virtually deathbed no vote on repealing the ACA and Mitt Romney's impeachment vote. And while I can appreciate both things for what they were, those are slim pickings.
I'd love to see some Democratic unity making some things happen, either now or after midterms. But that happening would definitely be a surprising turn from an otherwise predictably disappointing party.

When Obama 1st took office he had a 57 senate lead and all we heard was how he couldnt do shit because he needed a 60 seat super majority to accomplish shit. Then for 2 yrs pussy ass dems sat back wringing their hands in helplessness passing half assed watered down legislation.
