Trump's blueprint for victory

The speeches weren't intended to appeal to black voters, it was to soothe white suburban voters. To excuse them for voting for a bigot.

This I can agree with.

I don't believe that many more blacks intend to vote for Trump. White men are trolls by nature. Just like many don't want to admit they're voting for Trump, many are claiming to be black to damage the polls. We're in a racial cold war now. The few blacks Ive seen who support Trump are doing so for the same reasons as most whites. They're voting for him because he hates the same people, in there case, gays and immigrants.

Many more black ppl may not intend to vote for Trump. But it only takes a few percentage points in major swing states like PA (Philly) or MI (Detroit) to either decide to vote for Trump or to just not vote for Biden. But I think you're wrong on polling methodology. It's accurate enough to wear someone can't just pretend to be black or some other ethnicity.

Immigration is the elephant in the room. But, unfortunately, you can't have an objective conversation about that issue on this board.

Not only is immigration not the elephant in the room, it's not even in the room for most black people. My friends and family cover the entire spectrum and immigration (besides the fuck shit that Trump has done) has never been a topic of conversation and we discuss everything.

Immigration is mainly shit that CACs care about.

And this is coming from someone who has posted several articles about how immigration impacts the economy and also people who compete for labor-based jobs... which is where a lot of black workers compete.

One minute he's a blabbering moron, next he's a strategic political genius who is doing something no other president has ever done - bringing us to Fascism.

Yall gotta make up your minds.

One can be a blathering idiot and an authoritarian at the same time, plenty of historical and current precedents to consider here.

I'd imagine the number of conventions abandoned, unprecedented executive actions, "sacred" political mores set ablaze etc would make even the most optimistic observer concerned about this admin's authoritarian leanings. Especially folks with a purportedly "small gov" preference. Another thing to consider is that fascism doesn't just come upon a nation suddenly... it creeps and all the signs are there for the curious to see imo.

I've tried to have an objective convo about this here years ago. I don't think America is ready for a serious national convo about this yet which approaches anything more nuanced than hysteria (which this admin seized upon expertly)

Yeah. Authoritarianism doesn't require genius. It's just relentless abuse and consolidation of power. He's both a blathering idiot and clear autocrat. If he wins, it's all over. Look at how bold he is right now.. dude shot his fucking convention at the White House. he's using federal dollars to pay for his campaign!!! people aren't fully comprehending how big of a crime that is.

White Supremacy is too powerful and deadly of an enemy for black people to worry about illegal immigrants. I've posted articles about how in some areas it hurts black people because of the labor market pressure (both hiring and wages)..... but in the end, when the boys in blue mowing you down on the way home from a job interview, that's going to matter to you more than some indirect shit like illegal immigration. People just have bigger battles to fight. That's just our story. Imagine what we could do if we didn't have to spend so much time fighting for equality. Shit is exhausting

A blathering idiot with open enemies within his own political party and at least half the country disgusted by him DOES NOT become a fascist dictator.

Can yall stop with the hyperbole?

You're not seeing the bigger picture. Immigration is the one issue (outside of extreme LGBT) that could potentially unite the black and white working-classes in opposition to it. This is why I highlighted the part in the article where it says: "there are serious analysts, like Shor, who see the defection of some working-class Blacks to the right as in line with trends in other democracies where the education divide can be more determinative of voting patterns than racial or ethnic divides."

Maan you know I'm not the most enthusiastic Biden/Kamala voter here by a country mile but I will vote for those mofos for pragmatic reasons. I think my perspective on this is more realism than defeatist tbh but I understand where you're coming from
I disagree. I am now enthusiastic about this duo. It lets me know who to fucking avoid moving forward. For years I thought people were inherently good and when the time was right they would leap into the right decision. I was wrong. People like the OP will never run out of names to blame. That dude is my brother. A million reasons why he wasn’t successful.

Names to blame? Your brother? A million reasons why I wasn’t successful? Whatchoo talkin’ bout?!?

I’ve stated before that one of my biggest mistakes was blindly supporting Obama in 2008 and looking at Cornel West as a “hater.” But you live and learn. Now I’m more conscious of Democratic neglect and the Democratic agenda (which you’re a part of).

Hey, you’re on ignore.
