Why would he. He's attempting to be the greatest in the history of his profession so he can't afford a wasted season. The most important thing to the players is finishing these last eight games so they lock in the TV contracts. That's probably more important than crowning a champion this year. After these 8 regular season games and play in tournament, 6 teams are leaving the bubble so with players, coaches and personal that's at least 120 people gone. End of the 1st round of the playoffs is another 160 gone. If they can make it to the 2nd round they'll be good.
