This summer, the Black Lives Matter protests called for, amongst other things, a reexamine of our nation’s policing, in an effort to end police brutality against Black communities and other vulnerable populations. When it comes to the depiction of police in popular culture, that reexamination extends to the many TV shows and films that depict the police as unilaterally good, morally unimpeachable, and/or justified in using any means necessary to stop crime in its tracks. Or, in the case of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, as a bunch of sweet, harmless goofballs. At a preview of his new Hulu movie Palm Springs, Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Andy Samberg said the sitcom is currently “taking a step back” and “rethinking how we’re going to move forward” with the NBC comedy series.

“We’re taking a step back, and the writers are all rethinking how we’re going to move forward, as well as the cast,” Samberg, who has played Detective Jake Peralta on the sitcom since it debuted in 2013 on Fox, moving to NBC last year for its sixth season, told People. “We’re all in touch and kind of discussing how you make a comedy show about police right now, and if we can find a way of doing that that we all feel morally okay about.” Says the former Saturday Night Live star, “I know that we’ll figure it out, but it’s definitely a challenge, so we’ll see how it goes.”

Last month, Samberg’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine costar Terry Crews said their showrunner Dan Goor had scrapped four upcoming episodes following the civil rights protests, which were sparked by the death of George Floyd at the hands of four Minneapolis police officers. “We have to start over. Right now we don’t know which direction it’s going to go in,” Crews said. “We have an opportunity here, and we plan to use it in the best way possible.” The show’s cast also donated $100,000 to the National Bail Fund Network, in addition to individual donations, and issued a statement condemning Floyd’s death.

American actor Terry Crews has landed in hot water once again over a tweet regarding the Black Lives Matter movement.

The Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor was under fire after he made an insensitive tweet saying after the movement comes to an end, black lives shouldn’t be held above other races.

“If you are a child of God, you are my brother and sister. I have family of every race, creed and ideology. We must ensure #blacklivesmatter doesn’t morph into #blacklivesbetter,” he tweeted.

Social media users soon hit back at his claims saying the BLM movement is all about equality amongst all races.

Martin Luther King’s daughter Bernice King too denounced his statement as she responded saying: “We’re so far from that bridge, Terry #BlackLivesMatter is, in part, a rallying cry and a protest slogan to galvanize people into doing the justice work needed to derail the deaths, dehumanization and destruction of Black lives that racism causes. Justice is not a competition.”

He had earlier riled up the internet as well when he tweeted about Black supremacy.

“Defeating White supremacy without White people creates Black supremacy. Equality is the truth,” he said.

He later clarified his statement saying: “I was not saying Black supremacy exists, because it doesn’t. I am saying if both Black and Whites don’t continue to work together– bad attitudes and resentments can create a dangerous self-righteousness. That’s all.”

Not sure what is so controversial about what he's saying i mean if you go on BLM website it explicitly states they're pro LGBT and anti male, and anti traditional family. And all the donations from the website goes to some democratic party fundraiser committee. That seems like some subversion type shit to me.

All that may be true or partly true but Terry didn't mention any of it. He doesn't dare say that. He only attacks black people because we're easy targets.

Why does any black people need to speak up against anti-semitism?

Why do other people need to speak up against anti-black racism?

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

Proof there isn't a cancel culture

How has Terry Crews REALLY suffered?

He said all this sh*t against black men and women for months...

He been fired? Suspended? Apoligized?

Nope.

We got a 200+ threax of proof he can continue to sh*t on black people without any fear of retaliation.

So at this point its much more about US then about him.
