Rapper Pop Smoke dead

Every time someone get shot or die from some drugs.....everyone wants to then give speeches and shit. Why do these dudes like 50 and Jeezy wait to do this when someone die? They want to benefit off that lifestyle and play righteous when it takes one of us.

Probably because when they do it just to do it, people say “Don’t nobody wanna hear you preaching shit”? :dunno:

Fact Cube is from a Crip set . The End

Literally any Black person who was born and raised in South LA is from a Crip set. There are tons of people who from the Crenshaw District which is the area where the Rolling 60s turf is. Don't mean they from the set.

I don't wish death on nobody but when I use to listen to Pop Smoke music....he was talking about scamming and all that shit. Shit don't warrant death but when you hear these niggas rap about this shit its hard to be shocked when some shit like this happen.

We know how the streets treat niggas that look like Tekashi and George Zimmerman. Talk all that shit but they be good to walk the streets.

So every time someone dies we going to bring up Zimmerman?

U could be like I wanted to kill my boss and they'd say u wanted to kill ya boss but u not keeping that same energy with Zimmerman

How could the disciples nail Jesus to the cross while Zimmerman still walking around smh as if the mfer really walking around the hood at night or something

I use to reply but it's not even worth it

Post all the dead rappers that died in the past 52 weeks to prove your point of known artist that have been killed

Ill be waiting for the list to prove your theory
Well they have to have a name to a certain level to appear on a comprehensive list. Many die and no one knows who they are, but the paper still lusts them as rappers. So I'll give you that, I'm stretching it with that statement. But this list will show you that I ain't stretching it by much.

The following is a list of notable hip hop musicians who have been murdered.

A 2015 study concluded that murder was the cause of 51.5% of U.S. hip hop musician deaths
.[1] The study noted that this figure refers primarily to premature deaths as most hip hop musicians have not yet lived long enough to fall into the highest-risk ages for heart- and liver-related illnesses.

I didn't know it was as high as 51%, I was half joking when I said it was every week. But that theme in that video is most rap videos. The term "haters" and "crabs in a barrel" come to mind. When you factor in how rap is treated like a hustle and an escape route for street dudes from around the mid 90s, I'd bet that's where the numbers start to increase. And let's not factor in the rappers who got shot but didn't die. That might be 90%. How many have been to jail? How many are drug dealers? How many are in gangs or affiliated, and use that as a selling point?

I just don't get how people keep playing confused about this shit. It's epidemic. I never heard of that study but I went to see it all. Metal artists kill themselves. That's obvious too

I counted 25 that I've never heard of or that most likely weren't known outside of their region.

They're still technically "Rappers", but...

33 yrs under 50 deaths... More doctors have been killed during that time... All I have to go into when people were getting killed working at abortion clinics

Yup. Jeezy put money on Guccis LIFE, live on the radio. And his whole career is based on naming his albums after college courses and presenting himself as a "thug motivator". Now he's rich and it's all "c'mon y'all, there's more than enough money. Relax."

Glad to see him rise above it all

This discussion/argument over positive vs negative music promotion has been going on for a while, but I'd like to interject a concept I haven't yet heard mentioned: profit margin. Right or wrong, I know some subscribe to the conspiracy theory that big money, media producers and promoters consciously choose to push negative messages to undermine black culture. However, I believe it may have something to do with how much easier and cheaper trap music is to produce due to younger less savvy artist, fewer professional musicians, often only street backdrop videos, etc. If they spend less to sell as much or more, its a no-brainer which message they invest in more. I've never invested in music, but could this be a part of it?
You are getting closer to the answer. It is about profit margins...and risk. Traditionally, the record label takes all of the financial risk in producing and promoting an artist. When street cats entered the rap game, they came with their own money...and people liked the music and content. Your “conscious rappers” didn’t come to the label with bread...they came looking for money.

With hustlers, the label incurred less risk and when the music sold, they made more money as a result. The economics naturally dictated that those types of acts (especially if successful) would be more sought after.

I’m not discounting the conspiracy theories...which I can attest have some validity to them, but it is more about the economics. Same holds true for other genres as compared to rap. R&B and Rock are more expensive to produce and promote than rap. Now with the new technology and social media, the costs and risk analysis has sharply skewed who gets put on. There are no more real gate keepers. If you and your crew have bread, you can force a labels hand if you get your shit poppin...less risk to the label.

Now make yourself a list of the rappers you DO know, alive and dead. You can take out the ones you don't know. See if your list of total rappers alive can get to 3 times as many dead from shooting

Yeah and It’s gonna keep happening until he gets addressed. I wouldn’t bring him up if everyone didn’t say what they was gonna do to him and he out here signing Skittles bags.

you do realize the people doing the killing aren’t freedom fighters, right? Most of those dudes don’t have morals or any type of code. They willmurder but will also tell in second. Can’t expect these dudes to hunt down Zimmerman.

Bruh. You just said a word. I know they gonna be upset that their conspiracy theory is over
