Disappointed' president Steve Mills out in Knicks shakeup

The New York Knicks parted ways with team president Steve Mills, the team announced Tuesday.

General manager Scott Perry will oversee the team's basketball operations in the interim, the team said.

Knicks owner James Dolan has long coveted Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri to run the franchise's basketball operations, but complications involving Ujiri's contract status and New York's reluctance to surrender draft-pick considerations as potential compensation to Toronto are already dimming Dolan's desire to pursue Ujiri over the next several months, league sources tell ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Dolan has discussed the job with one potential candidate recently, the sources said.

"Steve and I have come to the decision that it would be best for him to leave his role as president of the New York Knicks," Dolan said in a prepared statement. "We thank Steve for his many years of service to our organization and look forward to continuing our relationship with him as part of our board."

The Knicks' front-office shakeup on Tuesday comes two days before Thursday's NBA trade deadline.

The Knicks are 15-36, the third-worst mark in the Eastern Conference.

Mills, 60, has been the Knicks' president since July 2017 and previously worked as their executive vice president since 2013. Before being promoted to president, Mills had also served as the team's GM since March 18, 2014. He originally joined the Knicks in 1999 as executive vice president of franchise operations.

"It has been a great honor to represent the Knicks," Mill said in the statement. "I will always be grateful to Jim for giving me the chance to represent this franchise and I'm disappointed we were unable to achieve success for New York. I would like to thank the staff and players for their hard work during my tenure. I will always be a Knicks fan."

Since Mills rejoined the Knicks in 2013, the franchise is 178-365, the worst record in the NBA, according to ESPN Stats & Information.

The Knicks fired coach David Fizdale in December after the team started the season 4-18. Fizdale was 21-83 in less than two seasons as Knicks coach.
Mike Miller was named interim coach and the Knicks have gone 11-18 since.

I'm just glad people talking about the Warriors again. Somebody tell Gay_Carver and BitchIllLeaveYa its safe to come back out and post.

Them and some of the others will be back come playoff time when the Lakers get down in a series. Everybody knows that Clipper wave is coming.

man if the clippers ever get a huge following on here that would be crazy, since no one really followed PG13 or Kawhi like that. They had a few fans but nothing outrageous.
Everybody know and knew once Lebron relocated a number of us with bigg up that team(I kinda fell back when he went back to the Cavs).
The clippers matchup up great with the lakers, the ability to pressure the ball obvw it cross half court all game, kinda disrupt the offensive flow, in my eyes.

I wanna see the Jordan is GOAT stans jock and prop Kawhi over LeBron in the playoffs. All the smoke. Kawhi literally sued MJ, but they still would root for him over Bron. Niggas hate Bron surpassing Mikey that much.

The Clips DO match up well with the Lakers. They got 4 guys who can get you 30 and a more consistent bench. That being said they are a flawed team and not as strong defensively as projected. I think they can play spoilers to the Lake Show, but cant win it all. We'll see.

Everybody flawed this year
Playoffs will be interesting

For the Knicks to be taken seriously again... there has to be a phone message out there somewhere of James Dolan saying ****** and do like Donald Sterling and the Clippers.

Typical Dolan move. He should’ve just parted ways all together instead he places him elsewhere in the company

I cannot stand that man on many levels

But damn it he loyal as hell to those in his circle

He would bring Zeke back if he could

Real talk.

I just wish he was able to hire quality people and NOT interfere

There were more Warriors jerseys in the crowd last night in D.C. than Wizards jerseys.
Yea.. i pretty much told you this in the summer before your dumb ass overpaid for those tickets i told you to wait and get.

I bet you were the only fool in attendance who paid face value tho.
