With Kobe passing away so young, does Kobe become the Ayrton Senna to Shaq's Alain Prost?

I haven't slept. Last night I laid in the bed and could not for the life of me turn my brain off.

I slept at my desk for an hour for coming home with a migraine this morning. I slept for 1/2 hour during around the Horn just now.

This is weird. I'm face to face with my own mortality and I'm like I don't like this shit. I have cried at least 8 times. I'm a year older than Kobe was so that created. Seeing his face and his daughter face, especially seeing her in uniform being the female version of him.

I'm crying right now, shit.

Him, Terry Crews, or Ben Carson. That’s the end of my list of sellouts. I know this is about Whitlock but I had to throw them under the bus too.

I'm literally sadden by this, I had a rough day at work today, I wasn't my usual self and it showed. I was listening to some podcast earlier and they were discussing Kobe and the lack of respect of these clown ass hoe niggaz. Maybe its just me, but this hurts like losing a family member or someone close. Been a Kobe Bryant fan and Laker fan from day one so it feels unbelievable, its going to sting for a long time.

Was in class watching when the space shuttle blew up in the 80s. Up to yesterday, watching that blow up was the most disbelief I've had for the death of folks I don't know. :smh:

Shit is just weird man.

I watched some shit on CNN and they were going to break to end the segment and bitch ass Bob Costas actually jumped in last second just to bring that shit up before they ended the segment...almost like ...hold up.. we forgot to mention the rape shit!!!

literally, the other lead journalist was during her closing statement and he was like "if I may quickly interrupt..it's just important to say Kobe as always a flawed man and he did have the sexual assault case"... like the shit didnt even flow with the segment..almost like the control center was in his ear like "Bob... you gotta mention the rape shit!"

BOOM

Oh it gets worser..

on WFAN this white man called in and said he disagreed

that the players needed to play the game

the host was like I understand maybe even Kobe would WANT that

but just because Kobe would have WANTED that?

doesn't mean its the best thing, players were visibly shaken up and upset and emotional you weren't going to get there best.

This cac says well if I buy a ticket and make plans they supposed to play

The host says..OK but they were sobbing and..

the cac begins to LAUGH

Host is like WTF? you laughing about?

Those people get paid MILLIONS to play.

So I don't care how many wet eyes I see?

I KNOW how these white folks feel about Black athletes in PARTICULARLY..

so all these sports heads getting emotional about fathers and children and senseless death?

ALL hated on Kaepernick for saying the SAME DAMN THING.

The effect Kobe Bryant had on so many people around the NBA has been very clear in the aftermath of his sudden death.
Listen to your team news NOW.

Bryant and his daughter Gianna were among nine people killed in a helicopter crash near Los Angeles on Sunday. Countless players and figures around the league have since remembered the impact Bryant had on their lives.
Radio.com contributor Kendrick Perkins joined Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts on WFAN on Monday to discuss how Bryant’s passing is affecting his own life. Perkins told the guys about wanting to squash his beef with Kevin Durant, as it’s not important in the larger picture of life.
“I listened to Jay Will (Jason Williams) on ESPN, and he’s like ‘if you got some loved ones, it ain’t even worth it’ and it made me think about KD (Durant),” said Perkins. “And it made me think about the relationship and the millions of great times that we spent together, the one on ones that we had, the countless conversations that we had on the phone until 2 or 3 o’clock in the morning, just talking about life in general, to all of a sudden, a BS Twitter beef about basketball that shouldn’t have even transpired. Whether I was right, or he was right, or whoever was wrong in the situation, I didn’t care. I played a part in it.”

Perkins is referring to a tweet he sent on Sunday after hearing about the tragic accident in Calabasas. Durant and Perkins had recently argued on Twitter after Perkins said Russell Westbrook was the greatest player in Thunder history and was “Mr. Thunder.”
Durant, Perkins and Westbrook all played together in Oklahoma City from 2011-2015. Those Thunder teams were incredibly talented but never won it all, despite making the NBA Finals in 2012. Durant left for the Warriors in 2016, and the rest is history.

Perkins added that he did this in public because he wanted the world to see how important it is to net let petty squabbles get in the way of relationships.
“At that time, I could have easily called him or texted him that, but I wanted the world to see, for the simple fact that we started a beef on Twitter, and I wanted the world to see that I’m going to end this beef. I’m going to do my part because my brotherhood and my relationship with Kevin is far more valuable, because I don’t know if either one of us will see tomorrow, because life is not promised.”
The NBA has received some criticism for not canceling the games on Sunday, but Perkins doesn’t agree with those critics.
“Kobe would’ve wanted everybody to go out there and play those games, and leave it all out on the court. So that’s my motto ‘what would Kobe do?’ And Kobe would’ve wanted the NBA to continue. Kobe would’ve been upset for games to get cancelled.”

Thank you D'evils

And I agree with this, it would be a heavy game if the Lakers were playing the Magic or somebody but having both LA teams in Staples is just too heavy...
They should have a big stupid memorial in place of the game, let the city gathered and celebrate the Bryant family

In the wake of the shocking and tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven others on Sunday, ticket prices have skyrocketed for Tuesday’s Lakers-Clippers game.
Per Darren Rovell of The Action Network, the ticket prices for that game — one that figures to be among the more emotional scenes in American Sports this past decade — have risen five times. As a touching gesture of support, StubHub will reportedly donate all the money it makes from the game to the Kobe & Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation.

The foundation is “dedicated to improving the lives of youth and families in need, both domestically and globally.” It does so “by providing financial resources and developing unique programs,” and “strives to strengthen communities through educational and cultural enrichment opportunities,” per its official website.

It’s a fitting way to honor the life of Bryant and his daughter, along with the others whose lives were tragically lost in the accident.
