Everything that is happening now and will happen, would have already been known by Dr Manhattan before he became Cal. I remember from the comic the past present and future were all happening simultaneously from his point of view. He was explaining to someone about why he didn't stop the Kennedy assassination when he knew it would happen.

Not saying ratings are "obsolete" (useless). I'm saying traditional TV ratings are archaic (old and out of step with modernity). A cable TV network show having low ratings is only an indication of that show's performance among a select portion of its subscribers... not all of them, some. Yes, ratings matter for that network in regards to ad dollars, but "bad ratings" doesn't mean "bad show" like it used to when Nielsen ratings were a network's bread and butter.
You really think only 5% of the population are rump wranglers? I thought the gay subplot was a random choice too, but the storyline is still unfolding. That plot twist might be more relevant in the upcoming episodes. They've been dropping bombs at the ends of the last few episodes.

Like this show show but... Dr Manhattan is supposed to fall to a group of trailer park trash? Dudes driving around in pickup trucks full of lettuce and shit? The most veidt whose a genius and super rich could do against the guy was obscure his ability to see the future and subtly manipulate him to go away, he couldnt hurt him at all.
