HBO Series: Watchmen (2019) (drops 10/20/19) Thread

What’s the deal with the guy in the mansion?
Okay, here’s where talking about the show gets a little tricky without edging into spoilers (though this one you likely figured out already). Though this episode does not his reveal his identity, the publicity materials leading up to the series’ release confirm that Irons is playing Adrian Veidt, the aforementioned genius-madman who killed millions while ushering in a new era of peace on Earth. What he’s up to, however, remains a mystery.

At first I thought he was Ozymandias too, but the Watchmakers Son, the affinity for watches, the way the butler handed a horseshoe instead of a knife. I think this is Dr. Manhattan experimenting with life on this simpler galaxy.

Is this on "The Boys" level or even better? I'm not big on superheroes tv show or movies but The Boys is something I really enjoyed that shit moved up into my number 3 spot of best tv shows 1. Breaking Bad 2. Wire 3. The Boys

I'm going with Ozy. He would have learned how to create humans by now but as we can see they aren't the smartest. Wouldn't be surprised if they live in a big ass dome somewhere remote.

I'm thinking Ozy is saved for mid-Season or Season finale as the second season baddie

12 minutes in last night i had the same thought and i am 79% sure that this won't get a second season.

and now the racist incels are gonna start screaming what about that confederate show the show runners of GOT wanted to do on HBO.
Not nan one of the white boys that I work with spoke a word about the show today. Diehard comic book superhero fans.

missed it last night definitely gonna check it out tonight ondemand

Okay, then I wont say anything. I was looking for a spoiler thread, but will hold off.
I read the Watchmen book, and i'm a big Alan Moore fan, but didnt see the movie.
Moore didnt like The Watchmen movie or The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Its a great episode, I wanted to talk about the guy in the castle and the ending but yeah. will wait.

Appreciate the consideration....But Honestly bro, don't let me hinder the discussion, feel free to spark it...gonna be watching soon and I'm ok with spoilers.
I'm the kind of cat who reads the introductions and conclusions of Non-fiction books before diving into the middle, reads Game of thrones books and synopsis while watching the show etc.

Plus I know that a show about the watchmen ---especially one directed by Damon Lindelhof is gonna have a lot of layers and spark mad discussion...my wife and I were really into "The leftovers".

Just hoping it lives up to my expectations..
