I thought about that too. People made a big deal about Jay saying he didn't need the NFL... the NFL needed him. I don't think people realize what he was actually saying. People don't seem to realize that the NFL traditionally does not pay for acts that perform during half-time (not sure about other Superbowl events). Jay was basically saying, if you want me... pay me, and that is what the NFL did. It's ironic that acts will have a harder time saying no to Jay Z than the NFL.
With all that being said, no one including Jay Z and the NFL, should be surprised by the controversy of this move, regardless of the actual reasons he was brought in.
Jay did not help himself by the comments he made during the press conference. He had to have known Colin was going to come up in some way, shape, or form. Lying about getting Colin's approval was definitely a bad look.

As a business man myself, I can understand how Jay is viewing all of this. To be successful as Jay, you can’t be complacent or stagnant. He is not a guy who sits around and talks about it and is all about action. It is the primary trait that has made him successful
Just like Jay, every idea I have come up with was not always the right one but my heart was in the right place. I think conversation in this thread are healthy but we do need to give the brotha a chance

This is a lot different, this cop had on a body cam, and justice will be served. Did the media pull up the dead cac's drinking habits, traffic stops and un returned library books?
The reason this wasn't plastered all over the media is the cop was on duty "claiming" to be responding to a call. Botham was murdered in his own home by a trigger happy snow demon who forced her way into his home.
The media wouldn't pull up alll that cuz it didn't even appear in the media. Obviously the cop was wrong , which is why the guy "won" the case. He's still loaded with bullets on his home. Somebody asked if it ever happens , so I posted it. And all it took was a search.

It's a higher rate but it's also proportional to the amount of crime in our neighborhoods, which is also disproportionate-- way more disproportionate. And unfortunately in situations like Baltimore , the more they cut cops out of neighborhoods, the murder rate goes UP. And out of the many ways Black men can get murdered , unfortunately , getting shot by cops is FAR down the list. I think we use shit like that to avoid looking at REAL ONES.
Oh and usually people in the hood who shoot other people get off Scott free, because no snitching.
The kids who got shot ON THE AUC CAMPUS last week-- they still don't have a suspect. This means our college students can be ran up on again but the same guy who can just walk on campus.

The funny thing is that we are quick to disassociate from our own when they say or do something we don’t agree with, but still support the white man’s shit.
I don’t like the move Jay made nor what he said, but I’m going to see what happens from here. I honestly can give a fuck about any of these celebs personally. Unfortunately they do have a hold on our society, so what they say holds weight to most.
I honestly don’t give a fuck about Kanye but I still bang some of his old shit. Lol! He pulled the ultimate sambo moves. I’ll support when he does shit for the community though. Same with Jay and any other celeb.
I just hope one day we can honestly stop depending on non-black owned businesses so much. I make sure to support black owned the best I can.
