**Official NBA Offseason... Big Names switch teams, Kawhi/P13 to LAC...wtf Westbrook and CP3 traded

Barrett's lack of athleticism is really noticeable in this game.

He's not longer and stronger than other players.

That's why I think he'll struggle...if not be a bust.

Zion has a bad jumper, but has freakish quickness, power and jumping. Barrett has none of that.

Plus he's never played second fiddle. And I don't care what anyone thinks Smith Jr, Knox and chucker Trier aren't letting that dude dominate shit.

I can agree here.

You didnt see how gassed he was Weatherman? They did the right thing benching him. His conditioning is poor.. and hes carrying way too weight to be out there when tired. It leaves him open to muscle pulls and dehydration.

He needs a nutritionist ASAP.
I don't know how he didn't have one 2 or 3 months ago when it was clear he was gonna be the 1st pick.

What they worried about?

He needs some conditioning. It was a concern in college too.

Well I’m guessing they agreed since he ballooned up from not work out all offseason, to have his minute monitored.

Shit we gotta be grateful, at first he wasn’t gonna play at all.

I thought the Lakers should have drafted chucker Trier in the second last year. Dude is a Lou Williams type player.

Corey Joseph, Shai and Tristain Thompson play hard

I think it's a difference if you're the one in Canada. Canada picks players to train...and it spoils them.
Ok I Guess its more so the players who are meant to be stars. Something not right with Wiggins.

He was in shape during his season at Duke. I was surprised because he was looking sloppy during his senior year in high school. Even at Duke though, he was probably carrying 20 more pounds than he needed to. He's out of shape now because he didn't have to do shit for the draft. He's about to play his way into shape like Shaq. NBA is too-fast paced now...no benefit to carrying the extra weight.

That's the thing though....they had him out there a lot for a guy on a minutes restriction.

Like Fucup said....basically his first taste of load management. That's crazy as hell and scary.

Wow. Well I guess we'll see how this carries over into the season.

No reason the 1# pick should be this gassed halfway through a game.

Already problems with his weight is kind of scary. At 19 his weight shouldn't even be a problem right now.

@Spectrum

Barrett 4-17, 1-8 from 3, 1-4 FROM FREE THROW!!!

the free throw shooting is the biggest red flag of them all. its indicative of him being mentally soft and a bad shooter. horrible issue for a guy whose biggest attribute is being a "scorer".

RJ= BUST

His weight was a problem in high school. I was actually surprised how in shape he was at Duke. I think he'll be alright, but they gotta make this shit a priority. Him not being in shape though is an issue... because he should care enough himself to have stayed in shape.

Naw...not right now. That's wild honestly and should be a concern. But I'm sure its going to be two extremes...those that think he's a bust already and those who think its nothing to worry about. It should be a concern.

Never liked his game. He's going to struggle in the NBA.

Zion is going to put up 20 and 10 easily as a rookie. It's just that you have to worry about how great does he really want to be if he can keep his weight in check. Only Shaq was really able to get away with that shit .

I think the problem for him is he probably doesn't know how to be in shape. Its something that shouldn't be in his hands. Like someone said earlier he needs a nutritionist....he really should have a team of people. Someone at Duke made sure that shit was in check before he even got on campus.

Barrett is getting a ton of shots blocked

This ain't college
I don't know what he's gonna do when he's facing veterans.....He can't get a decent shot up.

I say the opposite

He turns 19 tomorrow

When you're young you eat shit and you eat late at night

He'll have a chef. He'll get with the teams trainer and be with his own trainer.

Julius Randle is a good example. He was never fat fat, but he got in good shape after his second year. His first year was his regular college look. Second year he tried the getting bigger to handle punishment. Then finally his third year he got in good shape.

Like i told complex 5 years ago about that Anthony Bennett bust, thats the quickest way to injure yourself. Sit his fat ass down until he gets in shape. Cant play yourself into shape carrying that much weight.

Damn bro I Don't see that shit at all. I don't see the jumper to put up 20 a game....I see a lot of bucket around the basket and hustle points but I can't see that amounting to 20 a game.

Shaq had a nice, quick spin move, but he really didn't "depend" on his quickness. he just overpowered you and primarily played in the paint. So the extra weight really didn't cause him too many problems. Zion utilizes his explosiveness all over the court... he's gotta get in shape.... but he struggled with the weight in high school and you really don't see high school athletes struggle with keeping weight off... they usually can't keep it on.

I agree to an extent.

I personally think he has bigger problems on his plate then his weight. Pelicans gonna do the best they can to keep that in check.

I think 3 months is a bit fast to have gained so much weight. I get he didn't have to work out for teams but he still had to keep his body in check.

He's fast and strong and can rebound... he can also get out on the break...and his jumper is respectable. Watch... he's going to be right around there... give or take 10 percent in both directions.

I hope he does. I'm rooting for him. I don't see it out the gate though. I see him being a 14-15 point game scorer this year starting off.
