That’s how I know we’re totally hopeless from several fronts. When free agents are saying, “You can’t throw enough bags at me to get me to play here” - your franchise has a massive perception issue.
I knew the way Phil Jackson handled Melo at the end, publicly embarrassing him, would sour a lot of prime talent on playing for the Knicks. Players don’t forget the way talent is treated by management even if they’re not playing for your team. Come free agency time, your team will he dead to them.

Some of this movement out east is weakening some teams. Teams like the Bulls, Pistons, and Magic have a chance to take baby steps. In fact I like the Bulls getting Thaddeus Young as a rotation guy.
