**Official NBA Offseason... Big Names switch teams, Kawhi/P13 to LAC...wtf Westbrook and CP3 traded

I wouldn't be surprised if they end up being a better team with kemba over kyrie...not that kemba is better than kyrie..it's just that kyrie was in over his head trying to be the #1... that's not who he is. He has to be the #2 guy

I haven’t paid too much attention to him in charlotte...but ya kyrie has a HUGE ego...walker might be a better fit personnel-wise and for that system...it’s nice to see him in a bigger market...he’ll definitely get more notice and he seems committed to winning if he’s willing to take that reduction in pay to play for a contender...doesn’t make sense taking a pay cut to play for charlotte and mike not do anything significant w/ the $$$ to make them contenders...I was ready to clown boston this season but this is a good pickup if true...they just need a replacement for horford which shouldn’t be hard to do

I didn’t see that you posted this...here is him “confirming” KD to BK

hard to be excited about this until the 2020-2021 season tho...I’m not looking forward to seeing kyrie be the #1 guy by himself next season unless we can get some nice complementary players around him

OT but I hope kawhi doesn’t go to the lakers...honestly don’t need another GS...I’d really like to see a competitive league next season

You a Nets fan?

Let me ask you... Why dont the Nets wanna try to get Kyrie to play with Russell?

Is it just about money?

Cause to me both guys can handle, pass, shoot, play on and off ball...

Whats the problem here?

Isn't this the 2nd or 3rd "done deal" team he's mentioned?

:dunno:

that’s the fun part of offseason

there were jokes of portland east as “sources” initially leaked that the nets were interested in having a backcourt of irving and russell...that shit ain’t realistic tho...financially or basketball-wise...IF we’re getting KD then we can’t afford to sign him russell and kyrie...and we don’t need two heavy-offense minded PGs who can’t play defense...that’s an experiment I don’t really want to see

there were early rumors the nets also had a chance @ getting a meeting w/ him...seems that’s no longer the case...maybe us locking up KD is true

Overpaying Kemba would have been a bad move though

it’s not about the $$$

if the rumors are true...he would’ve still made $20 mill more staying in charlotte (granted not the max which he said he didn’t want)

he’s actually taking less to be on a contender not bcuz charlotte wouldn’t overpay him

AD doesn't like playing center. So, what position will LBJ play with Kawhi at SF?

You know what?

I am perfectly fine with boogie and Isiah Thomas

Yup i am.

Really.

Seriously

I just need to sit down for a minute

I got a little small major migraine coming

Its nothing

I'm happy

Really

Anyone get me a glass of water, please.

I don’t know or care...I just don’t want kawhi on that team...let’s just have some damn balance in the league

Thank you. I'm tired of hearing people with that same old bullshit: "The NBA has never had balance". While mostly true, that doesn't mean that it shouldn't have balance. I'm ready for a wide open league. Makes shit more exciting not knowing the end result all the time.

But the Warriors did that the last 5 years and everyone looked the other way and cheered lil Curry on like he was carrying bums. Even claimed they were "fun to watch". The Dubs opened the Pandora's box of winning championships in the offseason.

yeah man.. fuck that. I'm cool with a Kemba type player but not one of the best players in the league.

Damn Major,

KD is done?

You really think so?

yo @SpiritualPorn

that's the most devasting injury for a basketball player. It's consistently a career-ender...not that you can't still play but practically every player (except Niq and that one year looks like a major outlier) even comes back near the same productivity. He's still going to be very good because he's KD but we're talking all-time great... possibly chasing down Kareem's scoring record, zapped right in the heart of his prime. It's a career changer.

ya even if the nets sign KD there’s gonna be a cloud over it until he can prove himself once again on the court...I wonder what the chances are of reinjury

Nets would still be getting one of the best players in the league. So it's still a good look... but the Warriors really did dude dirty letting him get on the court like that. There probably won't be an issue of reinjury if he goes through a full rehab and works himself back into game shape slowly... it's just that you permanently lose some of your explosion. KD has the type of game where he's going to be the least impacted by it of most players because he's such a great shooter and losing some on the ball explosion won't kill him, but it will still change his game.

Yea man.. They screwed us. We have been robbed of seeing what would have been the backend prime of a top 10 all time NBA player. I think he comes back as an all star level player but not 1st team NBA level player. Very unfortunate.
I can't disagree

That shit played out in front of us like a movie. I really hoping you are wrong but I don't think you are

In this era you gotta overpay. Kemba is not a bum either, he deserves the max from Jordan. Dude basically been a one man show playing alongside scrubs his whole career in Charlotte. He's been wasting his best years in Charlotte, I'd like to see him go to a playoff caliber team or his hometown NY.

cool...I just need—

kemba on the lakers
kawhi on the clippers
butler on the rockets
tobias on the jazz

that leaves the east wide open for the nets...playoffs next year...finals appearance in '20-21 lol

He doesnt deserve the max form anyone.. And the funny thing about him being on shit teams in Charlotte is, thats who/what he has to thank for pumping up his usage and stats. By circumstance, he was allowed/forced to carry a load which inflated his numbers and contribution. Hes a inefficient , high usage, volume scoring midget who couldnt make the postseason in the "weak east". MJ letting him walk is probably his best executive decision to date.. Its only bad because the idiot should have traded him (to cleveland) last season at deadline when teams were looking for the help. Now he walks for free.

He had the potential to surpass Kobe at least. Hes got better numbers and was well on his way. The sad part is dudes that claim to like KD on this board are giving his circle a major pass and saying its all gonna be alright, he got 2 FMVPs, he'll still get paid, etc. It shows you they never wanted KD to be the absolute best he could be, or to surpass Kobe, MJ and other greats they just rooted for him to beat LeBron. And its ultimately killed his career.

The offer of a five year deal worth over a quarter billion doesn't mitigate that at all? This isn't like Isaiah Thomas losing the whole Brinks truck. And to claim someone really did someone else dirty by letting them act of their own free will... The case seems overstated.

“As humans, we waste the shit out of our words. It’s sad. We use words like ‘awesome’ and ‘wonderful’ like they’re candy. It was awesome? Really? It inspired awe? It was wonderful? Are you serious? It was full of wonder? You use the word ‘amazing’ to describe a goddamn sandwich at Wendy’s. What’s going to happen on your wedding day, or when your first child is born? How will you describe it? You already wasted ‘amazing’ on a fucking sandwich.”

I've been done dirty, I've seen people done dirty-- this ain't it. I'm not one of those people who act as if rich people can't have problems but I think this is more an unfortunate situation than malicious harm.

Gilbert Arenas said KD's injury is not on his leaping foot so he should be fine coming back from this

Not only that but if the Hornets wont max out their all time scorer whos done nothing but bust his ass for the franchise, what FA or player are you gonna entice to come or stay in Charlotte? They dont reward the efforts. Jordan needs to sell the team.

I don't think Charlotte thought he was going to make third team and be eligible for the max...and they guessed wrong

I don't mind the Celtics signing Kemba, I love Kemba, but he's not going to make them Championship contenders. They're just going to be ok. Maybe if Kemba was 26 or 27, but he's too old to give 30+ mil too.

Batum's contract kills them.

No. Losing a full season of your prime and having that type of injury can't be mitigated by a supermax offer.

Let him go out on his "Free Will"? They wouldn't have allowed Curry to go out there. But I don't want to re-litigate this.

3 years ago Mike Conley got the biggest contract in NBA history & that nigga never sniffed the all Star. His teams were good because he had quality players (Z-bo, Allen, Gasol in his prime). Kemba deserves the bread & he'll get the max somewhere.

Kemba played alongside washed up starters in Batum, Marvin Williams and busts in Gilkrest & Lamb. That roster would have to put up a fight to make the finals in the D league. Hornets are a shit show of an organization.

Letting your best player walk by not offering him the max is a bad look and which free agent in the future would want to go there seeing how they did Kemba??

I'm biased because I'm a Uconn fanatic and I remember that championship run that Kemba had. He's undersized but he has that clutch gene. Surround him with some talent and dude will ball out

Next season for the Hornets, Nic Batum gets $25 mill, Biyombo gets $17 mill, Marvin Williams $15 mill, Cody Zeller $14 mill, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist $13 mill. But you lowball Kemba?
