Yep, only 23.7 million of cap space to fill 6 more roster spots. Only 6 players currently under contract.
.

Depends on when they close it. From what I've read, the added draft picks were for N.O. to close the deal later, which would allow their cap space to balloon up to $32M.

From what I've read, depending on when they actually close the deal, the Lakers could end up with up to $32.5 in cap space... They should be all right. I think that Lakers spent what they had to spend to get a bonified superstar just going into this prime. Those don't come often and they aren't cheap. Plus, those future drafts picks are only really valuable of the lakers end up being bad over the next 3-4 years.which is highly unlikely.
Exactly

Also, The team can Build around Davis after Bron is done

That helps, but you still need 6 to fill roster. can't give it all to 1 player

Bomani comes off line a hater at times. People were happy when the deal didn't get done earlier. Now it's too much?

Whats interesting here is that when the deal was talked about during the season, it was supposedly Lebron and Rich Paul who was orchestrating everything and got blamed for it. I wanna see if the media is gonna give the same people credit now that the deal is done.

No, the deal is scheduled to be done on July 6th. If the Lakers were to have cap space for another max, the deal would have to be done on July 30th. And apparently AD might not waive his trade kicker so the Lakers remaining cap space will end up being 23.7

If their dumb asses hired a legit POBO after Magic quit instead of giving Rob more power, the Lakers wouldn't be at the mercy of the Pelicans in regards to cap space.

There is no public available information (that I've seen) on the scheduled closing date. Where are you seeing that confirmed?

The Los Angeles Lakers trade for Anthony Davis is expected to be finalized on July 6th, according to Adrian Wojnarowski and Bobby Marks of ESPN.

If Davis declines his $4 million trade bonus, the Lakers will have $23.7 million in cap space this summer.

The Lakers could have had $32.5 million in cap space had they waited until July 30th to complete the trade.

Yeah. Why the fuck didn't Pelinka solidify a closing date? That move, if true, could cost the Lakers almost $10M in cap space. He's a former agent too :smh:

Yeah. I read that, but I also read the reason why the extra picks were there was to delay the closing date. That's a silly ass mistake to make it he left that completely up to the Pelicans :smh:
I thought it just wasn't public..not that he didn't specify it at all. Is there any cap space benefit for N.O. to wait?

Not really and the reason the Pels WOULDN'T wait is because they would need to have the pick in hand as soon as possible because they potentially have another deal lined up with the pick. Basically, Rob bent over and said, "just be gentle"

Sounds like Bron negotiated terms , brought both parties to the table, closed the deal and told Rob " I got this. ..just sign the fucking check and post date it dummy".. And the stupid muthafucka forgot to post date the check.

So who is the real GM? Rob, Bron, Klutch, Kobe?

So many excuses or claims will be made depending on how this goes. If AD, Klutch and the Lakers are on the same page there will be plenty of success to share, but if they end up with 22 mil to fill the roster James Brown will be playing all next year in the 2019-2020 BGOL NBA thread.

Dont they still have time to work out the details for everyone to get what they want?

Also, is NO trying to trade the 4th pick to move up and draft RJ Barrett too?

Couldn't wait until 7/30...they waited for PG & got beat. They had to pull the trigger on this. The picks are whatever. BOS & PHI have shown a surplus of picks doesn't mean shit except that you're going to have a gang of young guys to pay all at once. Get the superstar, chase the ring, fuck potential in picks.

Well it more on the pelicans wanting to get it done before the draft. Now they have days to getting a trade done, scout players for the 4th pick....Etc

Can't take the chance of Boston coming in with a nice offer. Knicks coming in either...had to make the move. They definitely benefit too!

Both of these

Makes sense...they thought that they had PG in the bag...pulled a Boston and waited...and got burned.

All I'm saying...is this summer should be interesting...filling out the rest of the roster

We need to give Carusso a run...he looked good at the end of the year and showed he can be a solid back up and make shots

A month ago we were looking like the Snickers, and now with one signing we're on pace for the playoffs...someplace Ingram and Lonzo weren't taking us

A second year with Lebron....he wasn’t missing the playoffs two times in a row anyway.
