Stevens surpassed the success that both of those coaches had including back to back conference final appearances.

Danny Ainge’s insistence on playing Hayward and not trading away some of their backcourt players was the team’s downfall.

very fair argument...but bringing up his success in the NCAA was pointless

It was possible look what happen with Paul George and possibly Kawhi

A team can risk it just to clear their books and start over if the player leaves

That's what Toronto did...Derozan wasn't taking them anywhere...they were trying to get rid of Kyle and Demar

Shit I think they could’ve won with Derozan....

They got two other quality players with Danny Green and Marc Gasol but that was just my think...

The raptors been a great team, just LeBron was in the way

Even better

They posted that shit Rondo was talking to make LeBron look bad for wanting to improve his team.

Ice Cubes son was saying Bron is too focused on being Hollywood and basketball took a back seat.

Meanwhile, Bron and Rich engineered this move behind the scenes.

Rob deserves no credit for this shit

A lot of Kobe fans were happy when they didn't make the playoffs

I also thought nobody wanted to play with LeBron.

They don't hear you...

I don't think they would have won with Derozan. This Raptors team still needed six games to defeat arguably one of the most broken teams in NBA history. Granted, that says a lot about Golden State but it also says you need a LOT beat a good team with a good system. Leonard was that dude because without his size, strength and ability Golden State would have won that bitch minus two HOF players and a bunch of band aids.

The funny thing about all of this is that no one has really touched upon how these injuries could actually help the team overall. NEXT season is pretty much a rap if both players are unable to play. We've already seen what GS can do with just Klay and Steph. The key will be what they accomplish during the summer. Now more than ever they can no longer just sit on their hands because their starters were off the chain. Only a solid bench with a more diverse skill set will help them get back to where they need to be when their injured players return. These teams better jump at the chance to win this year because if those fuckas return and actually have a bench it won't be nice.

They normally have a solid bench, the problem I think be when they don’t let those guys get into the correct flow.
Depending on the starters/stars kinda hurts in the long run. Having a system in place is that don’t highlight iso’s, really help the overall team aspect.
The dubs outa any other squad works the hell outta the system....even tho it may not seem like it...

So I do agree with you that in the long run this might be something in the long run.

Now far as your take on the raptors, I understand your angle..

I said it in another post, I think the young haul that we got back from the Lakers can thrive in a low pressure environment. Expectations are basically nothing in New Orleans and these kids won't be criticized that much if they have an off night. I tend to wonder if they can maximize their potential while playing in the shadow of the Superdome, including Lonzo but I'm guessing that depends on how much people can take of LaVar.

Them swaps change my initial responses “Damn That’s A lot”, to its a nice deal for both.

Ingram might not be healthy for a while, so with that idea...and the swaps it’s even...

Seem like they could’ve got it done with them extra picks

Ball
Ingram
Hart
4th pick

Is plenty of ask me

I keep saying they didn't need to add those extra picks

But it seems there are so many restrictions its probably ok

Personally I think Kerr is a good coach, not great. He's the Steve Fisher of the NBA. He walked into a system with Klay, Steph and Draymond. Most coaches don't walk into that situation. I say what I say because he has this "need" to play small ball thinking it's the bett
Kyrie need to stop the bullsh*t

And go to LA

Before patrick Beverley mess around and get a ring with lebron.

Now that would be some serious pussy shit after he left to go out on his own.

Lmao.....man I don’t care if smush Parker came back and won one with dude Or any one...

Just let dude get a ring in LA....

Now Unc Drew join the lakers would sho a sense of matured and forgiveness even tho he did apologize for being the way he was with a phone call.
If LeBron could suck up his pride and went back to Cleveland, ain’t nothing is impossible....

Well I’m still waiting for them dickhead in Boston to stop acting the way they do with Ray Allen.

Exactly. Never underestimate what a front office will do.

My man, you're doing a whole lotta, contorting, if if's was fifths, and hemming and hawing to explain away and ignore the obvious.. The Pelicans should have traded him in January and the package they got yesterday is less in aggregate than what they were offered 5 months ago (as i said would happen in real time). Period!!

Its weird shit that you're over complicating this shit just to frame it as less favorable an outcome for LA. :smh:

And stop with the Kyrie and Celtics bullshit. They were NEVER a serious option
1) We knew by January that Kyrie was fucking out.
2) As @Complex has said, Ainge dumb ass wouldnt even trade Jaylen regular ass for Kawhi. No way he trades his precious "assets" AND Tatum for a potential one year rental.

How is it weird? What changed between January and now? I'm killing the narrative that the cac owner did a lesser deal just to spite Magic and the former black GM to make Rob pelinka look good?

Dude, that's some bullshit. Right or wrong they felt they could get a better deal with more teams like Boston and NY involved. injuries and the draft changed all that.

Riddle me this Batman, if NY had the zion pick right and the Lakers the 14th where would they send AD? What about Phoenix?

This is near my take on the trade: https://www.theringer.com/2019/6/16/18681062/new-orleans-pelicans-anthony-davis-trade-lakers-zion-williamson

I agree that with BI's injury on paper it might look more appealing based on the number of pics, but they gambled and won. They got the #1 and a nearly identical trade. I don't see how they would be better with the 4 young lakers, and 14th pick and their own if it wasn't Zion.
That's what they thought they had in January.
The pels should be happy, and as long as we can build a good team around Bron and Brow we should be too.

He gave up more possibly than he should have, but I think Golden State changed things

Ingram's health situation probably caused them to add more also.

Lets see them. AD was a done deal as soon as he signed with team Lebron. Who else is coming cause the roster is shit past the 3 guys they have. I don't want to hear that same ole shit in 8 months about Bron needs more help. He just got the best help he has ever had.
From what I'm seeing, the narrative now is that the Lakers have up too much. They have no money for anyone else.
The Lakers have never been scared to go over the cap to make a team.

Yep, only 23.7 million of cap space to fill 6 more roster spots. Only 6 players currently under contract.

Can't pay any max deals to anybody.

Might have to get old ass Melo, Al Horford, Boogie, somebody that will play for cheap.

This Hershel Walker trade was a very desperate move.

From what I've read, depending on when they actually close the deal, the Lakers could end up with up to $32.5 in cap space... They should be all right. I think that Lakers spent what they had to spend to get a bonified superstar just going into this prime. Those don't come often and they aren't cheap. Plus, those future drafts picks are only really valuable of the lakers end up being bad over the next 3-4 years.which is highly unlikely.
