I thought all these joints were black owned and I was wrong, Amy Ruth's in NYC was lost to a jewish man in a tax sale years ago. I found out when I was calling them during a time when they couldn't cook due to not having gas service and some Jewish man kept answering the phone. I thought I called the wrong number but I didn't. I did a lil digging afterward and found out the truth.
Like I said, great question to ask
Big Daddys, Busy Bee, The Beautiful and Paschals are all black owned. Don't know about the rest.
That place any good? I've driven past it a thousand times and never eaten there.

Fatt Matts used to be my BBQ spot when i was there. Check out Mr Everything for some good ass food too ain't soul food but black owned
Got invited to go to Bugalou a few yrs ago. That place solidified that I'm just too dayum old for clubs
Hell No. If ya'll knew the history of Mary Mac's you might not want to eat there. It's pretty good though. Them little cinnamon rolls they give you with your meal are fire.

A spot you could not wander into in the 60's, 70's and early 80's if youwere black, unless you worked in the kitchen. Look at the pictures on the walls if you go in there. One of the reasons I rarely go because my grandparents could not go until late in their life. The MaryMac's for the black community was Paschals.
