I've got a small window of time for dinner on a Saturday night in July. (6pm to 8pm)

Want to hit up a soul food restaurant. Who knew Busy Bee is closed on Saturdays!!

Reviews for Mary Mac's are seriously mixed. Straight up 50/50 good vs bad experiences.

I ate at Kandi's restaurant on Peters Street, thought about checking out her other join in East Point.

trash no shape or form for true southern food. I would rather go to South City Kitchen lol but if you want soul food busy bee or the beautiful.. they are hole in the walls but good food especially on Sundays

For what its worth and all the hype, I went to Busy Bee, it wasnt all that. Of course I got the fried chicken and mac and cheese.

Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours. Not "traditional" per se but worth a trip, if only to have your expectations thrown for a loop..

I've been to South City Kitchen in Midtown a few times.

Never heard of "The Beautiful"

I recommended Paschal's to somebody on here. they said the service was bad. I didn't experience that. Foodwise, Paschal's was good. I had brunch tho. I ate til I thought my stomach would explode.

I think that was me. I had a terrible experience there...I'll see if I can find the post

Here's my earlier post:

Went to the new Paschals one time and never returned. Ordered 3 takeout meals and 2 were fucked up.

One was a burger that they left the ticket for the order in. As in, there was a piece of paper laying on top of the burger patty. Can't recall the 2nd order but it was messed up as well.

The 3rd order was fried chicken and it was good I admit.

To have to go back to the restaurant and complain after spending 75 or more with tip...I was disappointed especially cause I live in the area and it easily could be my go-to spot.

I don't see how the Beautiful gets so many props that shit has been trash to me forever sometimes they may have good food other times its shit.:puke:

List some restaurants...I'm wit the shit..I'm coming next month.. brah

Paschal's ....meh, wasn't impressed but I fuck with it for the history
Busy Bee Cafe.... A1 hands down best soul food in the city. And they're consistent.

Mary Mac's... only been once, it was good, solid portions, but location & parking make it not worth the trouble unless I'm in the area & its midday. Also, its white folks all over that place...not my crowd.

Big Daddy's... good stuff. Solid.
The Beautiful.... good food. Very old fashion digs & uniforms for cafeteria servers. But they have extras like flaxseed, tomato slices, etc
