Embiid says idea of firing 76ers' Brown is 'B.S.'

Philadelphia 76ers All-Star center Joel Embiiddefended coach Brett Brown on Monday amid speculation that the coach's job is at risk because of the team's second-round exit from the playoffs.

Embiid called the idea that Brown might be fired "bulls---," saying, "He's done a fantastic job. He's been there through everything.

"This year I think he grew even more as a coach. He learned, we all learned.

"At the end of the day, it comes down to the players. I don't think he should have anything to worry about. He's an amazing coach, a better person. ... If there was someone to blame, I mean, put it all on me."

Before the playoffs, team owner Josh Harris said he expected the 76ers to at least reach the East finals. And at a news conference before the playoffs, Harris refused to say whether Brown would return and offered only a lukewarm endorsement of the coach's performance.

Brown has coached the 76ers for six seasons, including a 10-win season in 2015-16, and has been championed by ownership and the front office for having patience through what former general manager Sam Hinkie dubbed "The Process." But the Sixers -- who rebuilt their roster with two blockbuster trades -- had higher expectations this season.

Brown's players have often expressed their admiration and confidence in the coach.

"What he's done for this organization is nothing short of remarkable,'' 76ers guard JJ Redick said Monday. "I would just say this in general, for any NBA team, when you think about a coach, and potentially replacing that coach, you have to consider what coaches are available. I don't feel it necessary to defend Brett to anyone. I think his work speaks for itself.''

The decision on Brown is a crucial one for first-year general manager Elton Brand, who also has to decide how to handle the team's free agents.

Jimmy Butler, Tobias Harris and Redick are headed into free agency, with a max contract likely looming for Butler.

"I haven't thought about it too much,'' Butler said Monday. "I've got to sit down and really talk to my team.''

Harris, a trade-deadline pickup from the LA Clippers, can also command a max deal from the Sixers. The Sixers are already on the hook for the $121 million left on Embiid's deal, and Ben Simmonsis a year out from earning a max-level extension.

For everyone clowning Embiid the one thing I can say in defeat is he is taking responsibility for his part in it. Hopefully that translates into him taking better care of himself physically. Now Simmons seems to be in denial of what he has to work on particularly and its pissing me off. I guess we have to keep in mind he's only 22 and it shows. Sixers need to resign Butler then go after Kemba Walker. Call Klay to see what's good but dat nigga ain't leaving Oakland.

Nah man, its not Rileys fault he aint pay Wade. Its Bron's! Bron made Wade opt out, then made Pat Riley pay Hassan Whiteside instead of Wade. Then he made Riley not max him out the rest of his career. Bron cost Wade millions. Mickey Arison and Riley wanted to pay him but...
Oh nooooooooooo

When Wade, Bosh, and Bron got together, THEY TOOK LESS THAN THE MAX! THIS WAS BECAUSE THEY WANTED MONEY FOR OTHER PLAYERS On some Tom Brady shit.

When they let Mike Miller go on some salary cap shit, Bron was like, "Dude, we here winning and you are getting rid of the players we are winning with?" The Heat didn't want to pay the Luxury Tax.

After the Heat lost to the Spurs, Bron expressed some of his feelings to Riles. Riles basically held a press conference talking big shit. It was disrespectful as fuck. Then Riles was planting stories to trash Bron and make himself look like a disciplinarian. Bron was like "Bye Bitch"

The Heat could have paid Wade because they paid Dragic.

Seeing the lies put out about that situation let me know there are a lot of misinformed analysts repeating shit.

I would love Butler on the Lakers

One of my favorite players right now.

Dont forget that white boy, Tyrus Johnson or something like that... Same summer Riley told Wade he was broke he gave that cac $50 million.

Fuck that! If I'm going to lose at the buzzer, swish that shit! That was torture! With the first bounce, Philly KNEW it was going to OT. With the 2nd one, they felt it had a very good chance of going to OT. During the next 2 bounces, you could slowly see their souls leave their bodies.
I wanted the sixers and the Rockets to win but when I see greatness,I just enjoy.

That shit did roll around forever though.

Not like Dame Dollars swish

Negative. "HE" said the Nuggets wouldn't get past the first round.
I believe what HE said was let MHC enjoy the playoffs while he can. Implying that the chicken nuggets would not last long. They escaped round one against a 7 seed by the hair of their ass, and then got dealt with by another lower seed.
The Nuggets were 1 minute away from the Western Conference Finals.
By that logic they were 4 points away form being losing game 7 at home against a horrid Spurs 7th seed squad in round one. Thanks.

He's not playing this series at all.

Dame & C.J have to outplay the beige brothers and they may have a chance but that's a big "if". The real challenge is not letting bass mouth average a triple double like he did against the Rockets. They also need Iggy to get back to his career average on 3s. He shot damn near lights out against the rockets :smh:

Cj on a mission. I think he’ll out work clay. Dame on the other hand act like okc was enough for him. This shot gone be interesting. I ain’t think blazers was getting this far.

Why y’all busy thinking I’m bad luck you better holler at ya mans Drake. That nigga was wearing 76ers shorts watching the game and put the curse on. He’s the same Nigga who was out here hanging out with Curry when we blew a 3-1 lead. Drake is the real reason y’all losing!!!!

“Dealt with” how? Fool the Blazers were the 3rd seed (53-29) while the Nuggets were a 2 seed at (54-28). Yeah big fucking upset. And they had two stars and playoff experience. If Malone hadn’t just sat still and let that 17 point lead dwindle, they’d be finished.

And again, by that logic, if the spurs dont brick 2 shots they win by one and not lose by 4.

Enjoy the offseason young fella.

You know them cacs don’t like when a player leaves on they own. Skip don’t realize it. But he ain’t far off from acting like cavs owner when Bron left
Skip ain’t the only one. Some of these cacs on NBA radio do the same. Also trashed Kawhi last season for not playing & demanding a trade. They don’t want players having any control with their destiny, while in the league. Only want them to shut-up & dribble....
