but what about the people that weren't confused by it? I only saw it once and think i have a pretty good idea of what's going on. I didn't need much explained to me and was able to draw my own conclusions. Yeah there were little points that were brought to my attention after, but this only made the movie better for me. The movie is not for everybody, but there are a lot of movies like that. I am seeing this again today (saw it alone the first time, seeing again with the family).
He represents my point of view on this:

so upon a second viewing, there was some misinformation in here. There was never any mention of Jason setting the house on fire. Red says to Ade when she sends the boys off to play "don't set OUR house on fire". So the theory of jason being swapped based off that, is not possible. Second, Jason was not in the same room when Red was explaining the backstory to Ade. He was in a different room, not even close. The reason he looks at her like that at the end is not because he overheard, but because of what he saw. He saw Ade kill Red brutally and also display tethered tendencies (i.e. sounds). The movie is even better the second time around.
Niggas won't payin' that much attention. That Jason/Pluto theory although fascinating has never been plausible.
Don't see nobody mentioning those things as argument points as Jason being a tether... Jason would literally have to be a next level special needs kid to explain his whole actions throughout the movie... Being called weird isn't gonna cut it... Weird and special needs are two diff things and being that they not saying that kid is eligible for free disability checks for the rest of his life once he turn 18 that dude obviously ain't human... His sister was also a half breed to yet she acted no way like him why cause she been on the surface her whole life...that tether who couldn't use a lighter, that said random comments, who build sand "tunnels", who called red suits "us", who never seemed scared around killers for most of the movie, who left doorstoppers down cause he was scared of being locked in "darkness", who wore mask for no apparent reasons, who couldn't snap on beat to save his life, who disappeared for a while last yr, yeah that tether was obviously diff from his sis cause he juss reached the surface a yr ago... His actions are similar to his mom when she first reached the surface...Notice surface mom was genuinely afraid whenever he got lost notice she didn't want to go back to the beach either... She didn't want her or her son to go back below ground again

someone mentioned Jason was swapped during a fire a year ago (Or it might have been in one of the videos someone posted). His sister did show some rage when she killed the twin. She went in on her, probably worse than anyone else. Ade killed the second twin just by stabbing her with the scissors. She killed red by stabbing her and then snapping her neck. The daughter gave the twin about 20 blows to the face relentlessly, and then just shook it off. I mean, that's the thing, anything is possible with this movie and we can all draw our own conclusions, because we can never prove who is right or wrong, unless Jordan confirms himself. I do agree Jason was a little off, but i think it was just due to being "mixed".
I don't think we was scared of being in darkness. At then end when he was in the locker, he hardly made a sound. and when he came out, he didn't seem startled, just surprised by what he saw.

the surface and underground obviously has an effect on your mental as well as physical abilities... Mom was originally from the surface and obviously you see she changed since she been underground all that time...mask Jason probably learned a set of skill set in his limited time down there to... Notice mom and son both kinda play with their counterparts meanwhile dad and daughter were literally juss trying to kill themselves... Everything about mom and son were diff from the others... Their interactions, their abilities, their connection to the other self...surface mom and son were both off, and underground mom and son were both diff with capabilities...everything points to the switch
the daughter killing people was juss natural human emotions in survival mode..Humans would react same way if adrenaline kicked in... She acted pretty normal throughout... The switched Jason was juss walking around like yeah more dead people excuse me can I get a cookie, hey guy with bloody hand on beach yeah let me tell nobody than draw pictures later... Which if you remember part of the training for underground lupa to become normal on the surface was to "draw"... Notice Jason has mad similarities to his mom when she first touch the surface...dude see red suits his first words it's "us" .... Not that they look like us, not why do they look like us, not are they our twins or replicas, but "it's us".... Us means his kind..us as his clone breed... Us as I'm not scared to be around them... That's why he can stare at a bloody hand red suited man on a beach and not be scared
actually, this was one of my gripes with the movie. Nobody asked that. Abe sees a guy that looks like him and offers him his boat and money. First thing out of anyones mouth would have been "wtf, why do you look like me?" The daughter didn't question it either. The movie is clearly not perfect (i.e. Abe just casually knocking on the white family's door after he killed his tether. How did he know his family survived. Last he saw, Ade was pulled inside and his kids ran off).

You can't be mad that they are not cause there's tons of flaws that are below amateurish...peele to smart to overlook those certain things... It's like he was banking on the plot twist and this deeper meaning thing more than executing a reg decent entertaining film... It was like he was like so what this writing is extra amateur and Jason seems like the weirdest dumbest kid in the world the last 15 mins will make everybody forget everything... Yeah and if I say this movie had a deeper meaning people will forget everything... No no my bro you don't get a pass for making 1 good movie and thinking you can sell a bag of s hit the next

the gloves they wore and scissors suppose to be a nod to nightmare on elm street... Also scissors are two blades connected... Connected like the human and tether

He was incredibly bitch made. You have to suspend disbelief in horror movies because without cowards, incompetence, or terrible equilibrium...horror movies wouldn't exist.
