Do You support the federal $15 minimum wage?

No. Because it won’t teach people to reach for better/ more. I started out well below $10 and it motivated me to work harder, make better choices and better educate myself to set myself apart. To just start ANYbody out at $15 seems like a gift. Could be my age talking, who knows.

In cities that are unaffordable, that increase still won’t save em. I’m not for free college, or much of that Bernie Sanders shit. Paying a lot for something (within reason) makes you respect it more. Free rent don’t make a tenant better. Free meals and dates didn’t make women or men better. People don’t get better when you hand them shit. They become complacent. This social media generation need to show they can to an hour without their fucking phones while on the clock.

Fast food jobs are there to incentivize you to reach higher. Those jobs shouldn’t be enough. That’s the point. Same reason you kids first car is a hoopty. You don’t start a muffucka out on a brand new whip; they can’t fucking drive yet! Same with high salaries-you earn that shit.

My mother gave me $1 a week allowance. If she gave me enough to buy my own Adidas that don’t show me shit. I ended up cutting grass and raking leaves and making almost a G one summer. Bought myself a car from an old lady who’s grass I cut for $800 when I was 15.. Needed some work. Found a snow hustle in the winter, on and on. Now I do what I now do and don’t fuck it off because I know what I don’t want to go back to.

No $15 is not even coming close nor is it the answer. But it is a small step in the right direction so I won't knock it.

shouldnt be paid that much to cook fries.
or greet people at the entrance to Wal-Mart.

however, minimum wage in a place like DC, NY, or the Bay aint gone get you nowhere.

I’m sorry but I’m going to ruffle some feathers here because some of you need to take your head out of your ass concerning this wage increase. We need to have at least $15 an hour minimum wage because everything else in society has been going up for the last 30 to 40 years and minimum wage is not keeping up.... Hell in Miami you have to get a freaking roommate just to afford somewhere decent.

A $15/hr minimum wage wouldn't be necessary if landlords weren't so damn greedy.

Suppose you have a minimum wage earner working and living in San Francisco earning $15/hr. They decide the cost of living is too high so they move to Hayward.

The first thing that happens is that their transportation costs shoot up at least $200/month. At that point their boss either has to give them a raise or risk losing them to a company in Hayward. This means higher prices for their customers.

Also, their commute becomes longer they're more likely to get stuck in traffic, a delayed train etc. so now the city of San Francisco has to raise taxes to improve the system and keep their workforce more reliable.

At the end of the day the city becomes more expensive which drives out more people and makes the problem even worse. But who benefits?

Only the landlord does.

This is bigger then a landlord every product in our society especially in the US has gone up significantly and minimal wage has not been able to keep up with the prices increase on everything such as groceries, sometimes gas, utilities etc.

Most minimum wage jobs are essential for a city to function. The less people can afford to live there the harder it becomes for the remaining residents to eat a hamburger, buy gas, park their car, etc.

the cost of groceries, gasoline and utilities hasn't doubled in the last 10 years. Rent has done that and then some. It's the biggest factor that causes the other prices to rise as well.

Cities need to enact a cap on what landlords can charge across the board. Allow them to earn enough to maintain the properties and keep a tidy profit, but don't let them keep getting rich off at everyone else's expense.

That way you don't need to raise minimum wages that high. This in turn makes it easier for people to start small businesses which protect the economy when a big employer goes under

Hold up you are incorrect let me find some information to back up my last comment

Either that or give citizens a stipend
Cause groceries rise
Bills rise
Rent rises
Pay stays the same?
Jobs are becoming automated
Not just fry job labor jobs too and tech jobs too
Lol you think they're teaching machines a.i. so you can still do that thing you do?
Yep Welfare used to take care of the food part but since the Republicans cut back every damn thing is becoming very hard for people out there to manage even when they work for time.

You making it sound like $15 is so much money until it's going to make people lazy and make that their life goals. Some of yall I think are threatened that if people make $15 flipping fries, that makes it to close to your underpaid wages in some office. Rather then shit on the poor, yall need to aim that at these CEO's that are taking advantage of everybody, making upwards to 500x's their employees median salary. Yall expect the minimum wage to never increase ever. With that thinking they should be still making $4.25 an hour when I was 16.

Has nothing to do with me working harder. That doesn't even make sense. Businesses with slimmer margins will just raise costs thus making the increase counter intuitive.
Listen like I said above someone need to get the government to do some type a price control other than that it’s coming to a point where people cannot live on the current minimum-wage.

15 an hr will convince more individuals to push going to legal routes instead of not so legal routes..my first job straight out of high school paid me close to 19 an hr... 1 day 1 of my task was to promote the job in various neighborhoods to get other individuals to possibly work with us since they were hiring...I was by far the youngest individual..so using my youth I went over to people my age and older who let's juss say we're more likely into illegal activities...when they heard how young I was and how much I was making and what I told them what some of my task were I had so many dudes grab up flyers cause they wanted to be down... It was right there I peep how easily you can inspire and change certain people mindsets especially the 1s who might choose negative routes.. So I'm def big in to people making nice proportions of money..it actually motivates them more to do good...by the way ever since than I been big on informing and notifying young men and women about nice paying jobs to keep them on track

No I don’t buy the argument that’s a cop out
Whether you believe it or not doesn’t make a difference
That’s reality
This is coming from someone with employees (where I pay a few peeps more than $15/hr)

I’m sorry but it Has to happen you just have to work a little harder
This is how these type of discussions turn nasty
You’re talking to him as if you have some type of power

On the other hand, working for someone at any wage puts you at their mercy. You can work hard and kiss all kinds of ass, but that doesn't mean you'll get a raise. boss can change your location adding hours to your weekly commute. You either comply or get fired. The boss can sexually harass you, demean you for your race and ethnicity, etc and really doesn't have to be that slick to get away with it. Hell, the whole company can pack up and move overseas and the government can simply say "fuck you and every dollar you paid into unemployment." At least with most illegal activities you only have to worry about jail.

Most people with illegal livelihoods are already small businessmen anyway. Show them a way to make that business legit and put their crew on salary. It's harder to do that with a $15 federal minimum though.
