Anthony Davis wants out......where will he go

If this is true, NO would be beyond incompetent to not pull the trigger immediately.

Hes giving up too much. Lance and Rondo are great cheap pieces that will be needed in a long postseason.. An Rondo/AD combo have been proven to be effective in a playoff series.

I think Magic just wants to add a young superstar like this at almost any cost because they don't come around often like this...and then he'll just figure it out later. They'll have zero depth man... he's essentially trading away all the team's talent except for Lebron.

They better hope they get him. As of today, he and Rob aint done shit in two years on the gig but get conned by LaVar into taking his kid 2 overall.

The Lakers may end up with AD after July but it will cost them. Boston has more to offer especially if they lose Kyrie and pick up some more talent to sweeten the deal.

What's not going to happen is AD playing for the Lakers this year. AD will either sign witb Boston for $250MM or he will go to the Lakers and lose approximately $70MM. If that's the right math for a free agent. LA gets AD on the cheap.

He's not going to Boston....he just said it ain't about the money and top it off he's gonna be the face of the Lakers....Mississippi North aka Boston is always gonna want a aryan face of the franchise

They all say its not about the money. Boston is betting he's full of shit. Not only that but they could just as easily trade him next year. Right? He ain't going to LA this year.

Man Bron was coming there if Ronald McDonald was the GM. LA move was a real estate play. Bron needed close proximity to business interest.. Magic gets no dap for that shit.

I disagree. Being able to work with Magic after working with cac like Gilbert was a huge attraction.

The Celtics? Exactly why he ain't going to that bullshit ass CaC franchise.....if he ain't in LA this year he's there next year.....he knew the Celtics couldn't get him when he announced he wanted out.

That deal is terrible; there is no reason for NO to pull the trigger on that deal, none...

They wont get a better deal imo. Boston is the other team with the assets and he aint signing there long term..and Ainge never gives good deals, he takes them.
I dont know that to be true yet; but that deal was worthless; Notice how the media is only going public with Laker deals:hmm:; Im not feeling anything the Lakers is offering right now....

Kuz, Ingram, Ball, (maybe Zu), picks, cats on one year deals, taking back trash ... Thats a good haul man.

If I'm NO's GM, I wouldn't go for that shit though. I want a star or high draft picks back. I don't want role players in return for a superstar. I'd wait it out and do the deal with the Celtics and get all those good 1st round picks they're sitting on.

But i firmly believe this trade will go down before the deadline. It's not a great deal, but NO might feel like it's "enough" just to move on from this shit.

The only discernible star in any trade scenario is Tatum in the summer. But with AD making it clear he wont sign a long term deal there, that just isnt a realistic get. I dont see a Laker offer improving after the deadline.. Right now AD is the only game in town and all efforts are directed at getting him. Come summer LA will focus efforts on free agency while being able to keep the young core and depth, knowing AD will come for free the following year. If you're NO, you have to rape Magic while you can and make a deal now.

Honestly i think a deal is already done.

NO would be wise to deal him when they can. If he wants to be LA as it seems he does, a team is not going to rent him for one year and not be able to get anything long term.

Damn. I forgot about AD's dad nuking that option. I was thinking more about the 4 1st rounders that the Celtics have.

if they can't do a deal with the Celtics, I dont see how the other teams AD mentioned he would sign with can offer more than the Lakers.

The fact that Lonzo Ball hasn't really proven anything, yet his father is making demands like he's an MVP is one of the reasons why basketball struggles to take hold in New Orleans.

He ain't there next year. He still has one year on his contract. The Pelicans can send his ass anywhere up until the next deadline in 2020. The trade his to the Celtics and he has to literally play for those muthafuckas until they either trade him or lose him. Either way he loses up to $70MM to go to the Lakers. Lakers get him on the cheap and he gets to go play for them for either five years or play for one year and risk it all.

He's too inconsistent and doesnt play with alertness or hunger...

It sucks because he was given the shot...2 years and still was just meh

NO is CRAZY not to take this offer

• The Lakers reportedly offered the Pelicans a new trade featuring Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson, and Michael Beasley, along with two first-round picks, in exchange for Anthony Davis and Solomon Hill. The Lakers are awaiting New Orleans' response. (Brad Turner, Los Angeles Times)

AD is great and all, but dude stays hurt, and you are going to have to pay a part time player 30-40M per year.

Still not enough! Lakers gotta pay if they want AD. Pelicans should wait for Boston’s offer since their in the drivers seat.

Lakers pull out of Anthony Davis trade talks amid 'outrageous' requests by Pelicans
https://www.latimes.com/sports/lakers/la-sp-lakers-anthony-davis-trade-talks-20190205-story.html

The Lakers have “pulled out” of any more conversations in trying to acquire New Orleans All-Star Anthony Davis because of the Pelican’s “outrageous” trade requests, according to a person with knowledge of the situation not authorized to speak publicly.

Magic Johnson, the Lakers president of basketball operations, told New Orleans general manager Dell Demps Tuesday morning that Los Angeles had made its best offer that the Pelicans had wanted, but that the Lakers were not willing to add anything else and would be moving on, a person said.

The Lakers were not going to give the Pelicans the six to eight draft picks they wanted for Davis, the person said, knowing that the four first-round picks and second-round picks were more than the Lakers would offer.

Late Monday night, the Lakers changed their offer at the request of the Pelicans, two people said.

The Lakers had agreed to send their entire young core of Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and Ivica Zubac to the Pelicans, as well as veteran guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, the people said.

The Lakers were also winning to also send the Pelicans two first-round draft picks.

And the Lakers were willing to give the Pelicans the salary-cap relief they wanted by taking back Solomon Hill, who has another year left on his deal after this season for $12.7 million.

The Lakers had made several changes to their proposals for the Pelicans, taking out a package that had included Rajon Rondo, Michael Beasley and Lance Stephenson, the person said.

“They wanted more and more and more,” said one person. “There was no more to give. They had cap-relief with Hill being in the deal. But the more they wanted the more it because outrageous and unrealistic.”

One person said the Pelicans are hopeful that if Davis isn’t traded by the NBA’s Thursday noon (Pacific Time) deadline, that he’ll want to stay and play for the Pelicans going forward.

“But that’s not going to happen,” the person said. “AD is not changing his mind.”

After the Lakers’ shoot-around in preparation for Tuesday night’s game against the Indiana Pacers, LeBron James was asked how he has followed the Davis trade sage.

James, who will play against the Pacers after missing Saturday night’s game at Golden State because of what the Lakers called “load management,” said he follows it like every other player.

“I kind of tend not to play much fantasy basketball, that’s how I’ve always been,” James said. “If something were to occur with our team, whether it’s him or it’s somebody else throughout the trade deadline, we’ll approach it then. But right now this is the group that we have and we’re missing a key point of our team right now with Zo (Ball) being out so we have to win ballgames.”

The Lakers have been adamant that they will not get into a bidding war for Davis this summer with the Boston Celtics, who are another team that has been associated with Davis, according to one person.

The Lakers have even said if the Pelicans revisit the trade during the summer that Los Angeles’ offer will be less than what it is now.

“We all know this is a business – it is a business – you go out and you prepare as a professional,” James said. “That’s what you’re supposed to do. It’s a business so right now this is who we have, this is my group, this is the group I’m trying to lead out there to try and win ballgames. That’s all I’ve ever done. I always have.

“I’ve had teammates every year be a part of trade deadline discussions and things of that nature and we’ve always figured out to just shield that away and play the game. So, if guys happen to get traded, we know that’s the business side of things. It definitely hurts to lose teammates, especially at this point in the season, but it’s the business and it doesn’t mean that you’re fired and you don’t have a job, things of that nature, you still have a job, you’re still able to play the game that you love.”
